I've got wireless in the hospital and I'm finally getting some time to get online while the nurses have stopped coming in, family is gone and Lucie is sleeping.
Definitely had quite the night/day. As Tiff and Gina updated, she wasn't handling contractions well. I kept having ones that were lasting 5-6 minutes and her heartbeat would drop. THen 10 people would rush in, it was terrifying. It happened about 5 times and I stopped dilating at 6. They started pitocin and she didn't handle the lowest dose so they made the decision to do a c section. I don't think they were too hasty, they really were concerned.
However, when the anesthiologists came in to prep me, some other woman had a huge emergency and we were left hanging for another 90 mins which got me all anxious.
The surgery sucked - I kept throwing up, and when they were trying to close me up I coudln't stop and the OB was being rude to the anesthesiologist who was taking such good care of me telling him that she coudln't get anything done with me throwing up and to stop. Thanks lady.
Now I'm in a lot of pain and I hate not being able to get up to change a diaper or wipe up her spit up, but Arek is being so great, he;'s a natural, it makes me tear up. She's not feeding yet, I'm hoping she'll eventually get the hang of it. She latched on the first time, but not since.
Now I'm going to get rest while I can because I'm sure she won't be so sleepy tomorrow! Thanks for all your good thoughts!
Re: Update
Take care of yourself sweetie and try to get some rest and let people take care of you. Arek sounds like he has this daddy thing down
I am thinking about you guys and hopefully the soreness will go away.
Congrats to you two. I love the pictures and can't wait to see more, when you get a chance. Your nephew (I am assuming that is your nephew) looked so cute meeting Miss. Lucie.
I agree with Gina! I felt so much better and could sit up much easier once the staples were taken out. Don't get upset about Lucie not feeding. It just takes a while for everyone to figure out what to do. It took us a week to get it right.
Get some rest and enjoy your beautiful baby!
Glad you are both ok! Caroline, she's beautiful! Congratulations, again! Like Gina said, the pain won't last forever. Try to get up and walk today as much as you can. It will suck, but I promise it will help. And for the next couple of weeks stay on top of your pain meds. Glad Arek is falling into the role, that is so sweet. Get some rest if you can, and take all the help offered.
(((hugs)))
