I will probably get a little flaming here because I seriously didn't even think twice while recording my temps this month (with the exception of the spike I had when I first started getting sick). Everynight I read a few chapters of TCYF then suddenly yesterday my foggy brain realized how low my temps were, I am falling between 96.3 - 96.9. I got 97.1 after I was up for a bit this morning.
Initially google freaked me out a bit, this is my second 'go-round' with this sore throat cough thing since the beginning of fall, I feel pretty decent aside from the cough and how horse I have been. This summer I think my temps were more like 97.1 -97.3. I am trying to decide if I should just make a Dr's appt or not, I was planning on scheduling a physical with my PCP next month. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced low temps while sick?
Re: Low temp while sick
No flaming from me!
Those temps are not low for me. Most of my temps are in the 96's. I'm a little confused with what you're asking....are you wondering if low temps are bad to have (like will it mess up your eggs)?
It's my understanding that it doesn't matter what your temps are, it's just important to be able to see a shift in the temps from each phase of your cycle. Do you have a chart I can look at?
Oh I should have totally said 'unrelated to ttc'!! Sorry I was just if it was really weird or not in general. I only happened to realize where they were at because of charting.
Google totally is not your best friend sometimes but I looked up low temps and sore throat and two or three things popped up that sort of worried me. Basically I am a dork, and feel sooo much better now that you said those are normal for you. In TCYF the charts start at 97 for most of them and that was when I wondered if something was wrong with me.
LOL! I haven't ever really paid attention to my temps either when I'm sick. Right now, my chart looks super messed up but I don't know if the Clomid has something to do with the fluctuations in my temps. On a somewhat normal chart, my temps are usually around 96.4-7 the whole time until after I (thought) I ovulate and then they jump to the high 97's. So, long story short - I hope the 96's are ok or else now I'm freaking out too!!
That makes me feel so much better!! I bet it is just fine. LOL
On a side (ttc)note I pretty much have half a$$ed my charting this month because it's the first ttc I was just testing the waters sort of and I have notes everywhere for stuff related to being sick. So my chart looks a little nutty, & I started reading a chapter about anovulation, I almost immediately just closed the book. I am becoming a hypochondriac.
Yeah, you have to try to remember that the book has every possibility in it! That's why, after you do it longer, you'll understand how your body works and it will all make sense - although, my chart right now makes no sense. This damn clomid better give a normal cycle if nothing else because I'm not lovin the way it makes me feel.
LOL
My temps are usually in the 96s before I O too. My baseline is generally somewhere around 97.33. I also would usually have a dip in temps somewhere between 8 and 10dpo, but then it would rise back up. All of these things you start to notice after you've been charting for awhile.
I've never been concerned to see low temps. I just figured that it's from the lack of activity in my body while I sleep. And I usually sleep very warm too.

Thanks ladies. It is so true that there are a lot of things that we don't notice about ourselves.

if you are not running a fever and just overall feel crummy then your waking temps really should not be affected.
I had low waking temps. I was consistently in the low 96s and sometimes dipped into the upper 95s. My LP temps were usually low to mid 97s.
