Anyone here a member at the YMCA?
I'm trying to think of something to join this winter where Ben and I can get out of the house and do something. It's pretty pricey for a family membership, but would allow me to use the drop in daycare where he could play with other kids and I could work out (or sit in a corner and read by myself LOL). I was also considering Gymboree or the Children's Museum but those would require me to be with him all the time, and I think we would both benefit from some time away. Even just an hour a day or a few hours a week.
If you have a membership do you like the facility? Is it worth it?
Re: Anyone here a member at the YMCA?
Thanks! I will let you know. DH isnt sold since it is so expensive and his work schedule doesnt really allow him to go often enough for him to justify it. But I think my sanity and fun for Ben is worth it so we will see
I think I'm going to get me and DS a single-person membership to the new Kroc Center on Division for the winter; it's $30/mo for a single, then $2.50/hr for drop-in child care. I don't want to pay for a family membership there ($75?) when he may not be with me each time I go, and I doubt we'd get our money's worth from that.

I just googled it and it looks awesome! Is it open already? That is a lot more reasonable in price, and I could do the single membership.
Officially opened this week!

I was going to suggest the Kroc route too. Brian is checking to see if his work will pay for any of it since the employees at the main office can join a gym near their work for free. Supposedly work will pay $25.
I really hope we join. If you do, please let me know. Hopefully we can meet up.
It will be interesting to see how much use we actually get out of it, however if you join before Dec 1, the registration fee is waived. We figured we would give it a try for a few month and we can cancel without pentaly.
