How do you get in exercise?
Tavia and Eden's post below had me wondering... how does everyone exercise? Do you go to the gym? Walk and/or run? Use an elliptical? Go to classes? Walk the dog? Play a sport? Not exercise at all?
And, what do you like/dislike about how you get exercise? Are you looking to try something new, or do you love what you currently do?
I'm just curious, and I would love to see what types of activities other people do. It might give someone some ideas!

Re: How do you get in exercise?
I have tried going to the gym but I find I make more time to work out if I do it at home. I've been doing 30 day shred and also running around my neighborhood. I've been slacking on the running latley since it's getting dark sooner and I'm on the hunt for a jogging stroller so I can take M with me.
I only get about 30 minutes in about 3 times a week. That's because I only have a limited amount of time in the day that I can actually spend working out. I would like to take a class (zumba, cycling, or crossfit) but most of the classes start around 6 or so. I don't pick up M and get home until 6. Then add cooking, cleaning, and getting M ready for bed and then I'm out of time for the day. I do feel like I don't work out enough but I figure the small amount I do is better than not at all.
I WAS doing 30 Day Shred but stopped. I must start again soon...like, today or tomorrow soon.
I try to get it in small doses. I park further away from work and go walking during my lunch break. I chase JJ around the apartment, which really gets my cardio going. And after he's asleep, I like to throw solo dance parties - I plug my headphones in [just keep one in my ear so I can hear JJ], load up Napster on my iPhone and dance the night away. It's not the conventional ways, but it works for now. :P
ETA: I would prefer to go to a gym that offers classes, or do CrossFit or something like that...but time and babysitters are in short supply right now, so it doesn't really work out for me. I'm hoping that I can make working out at home work for me until we make the move...then I can join a gym in Colorado.
M-W-F mornings (though sometimes my Friday gets moved to Saturday) I get up at 5:10 and go for my C25K training. I like running under the morning stars (yesterday I could see both dippers and the rising crescent moon...very cool)
Other days, I do Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam, or lift weights to cross train. I love weights and how they make me feel.
So far, I'm enjoying everything. I have tons more energy and while my weight hasn't changed, I'm seeing little differences here and there
I should probably reply to this too!
For a while I was running/walking (C25k training), and I did pretty well with it for a little while. Unfortunately, I've been slowly coming to the realization that my utter dislike for running that I always had growing up never went away. I've tried and tried to learn to love it, but I just can't do it. I hate it! Which sucks because I was really looking forward to being one of "those" people who enters a bunch of races and stuff.
I have an elliptical at home that I use once or twice a week, my time on it varying from five minutes to forty. If I have a few spare minutes, I just hop on it. Better than nothing, right? I also started horseback riding again a few months ago. I recently switched it up so instead of doing it only once a week, I'm doing it 3-5 times a week. It's surprisingly good exercise, especially because I like it SO much more than running! It's amazing how awesome it feels to be excited about doing something good for me.my bookshelf!

I walk from the parking garage to my office which is a long @ss ways.
I really do need to be doing SOMETHING - my jeans from last year do not fit - I walked around Saturday in jeans that were not zipped and unbottoned.
Its all those GD Skirvin lunches with Snowful!
I do C25K program 3 times a week. I do it at the gym on the treadmill. I usually go at night, around 9 (10 on M/W since I don't get out of class until 9). I wish I could get up early enough to do it in the mornings. Today I'll be starting week 3 of the program. I've always hated running. It always gave me a headache and I couldn't ever do it for very long. But I think I'm getting the hang of it! Although I still can't run for a long period of time yet, I don't get headaches and I actually get excited to run.
On days I'm not doing the C25K program, I'll just walk on the treadmill for about 30-45 minutes and use the machines (for legs, arms, back, etc.). I'm not good at using the elliptical haha. I don't feel like I'm coordinated enough for it, it feels like I'm going to fall off. We used to have a treadmill at home, but I have so much more motivation at the gym, so we sold it.
I also walk from Lloyd Noble to the stadium on home game days, that counts as exercise, right?

Since college, I have not really ever exercised as much as I should. I used to eat whatever I wanted and never exercise and all the while stay thin. Then I quit smoking. Then I developed a thyroid condition. Then I had a 2nd baby.
I am really bad about having an exercise plan and abandoning it a few weeks (or even days) in. I have an exercise bike but there's no room for it anywhere, so I never use it. Lately I have been using the Wii Fit fairly regularly (for me anyway) and I am liking it. DS thinks it's fun to watch, so he will ask me to "play exercise" which helps remind me to get off my butt. A friend of mine and I discussed walking together, but she lives in Moore and I'm in Yukon so it's hard to make it happen more than once a week.
Way to blame it on your lunch partner!
I think I definitely need to kick the fitness regimen into high gear after all the halloween candy and good lunches w/stripes this week. I used to play lots of tennis and have always enjoyed group classes like kickboxing and such but lack of time has been my excuse lately. Hopefully with the daylight savings change, maybe I can wake up earlier and start to get some pre-dawn exercise. Lord knows it seldom happens after work. Blah.
I run every other day (in week 8 of the C25k program). I have never been a runner or even an exerciser before, but I am really enjoying this. I usually go between 3:30 and 5:30 before I pick Connor up from daycare, sometimes outside and sometimes at the gym. If I have Connor with me, we go to the gym on base where there is a parents room. It's not as stress-free and relaxing as exercise should be, but I can still get the job done for the most part.
I missed my run yesterday after working a 12 hour day and being on the road, which requires eating out with coworkers that I'm sharing a car with and boy can I tell. I am a crabby frustrated mess today.
I've been doing C25K and I'm on week 3. I'm really liking it so far. I can see how people get addicted to running.
I also Zumba, and try to do classes at least 2x a week.
I haven't been excersising so much lately as trying to stay active. I heard on a medical talk radio that a person who is overweight but lives an active lifestyle (i.e. stands at their job vs sitting at a desk) will live longer than a thin person who exercises 30 min a day and but works a desk job.
Conner keeps me on my feet a lot, I try to park far away, and we go on family walks pretty much every night. I'm thinking about joining the Y once I start trying to get the baby weight off but it's 30mins away...although I really want to try zumba and use the indoor pool and childcare.
I dislike gyms- I never found the motivation to go work out in one other than a handful of times in college. When the weather's nice, I walk laps around the outside of our building during my lunch break several days a week and/or I walk the dogs a fewevenings a week.
Lately, I've been lifting my set of 8-lb dumbells. If I keep them handy, I'll get in a few sets while I'm getting ready for work then a few more set in the evening. The minimal time commitment makes it easier to do.
I recently got my hula hoop out. It's just a cheap kids' one from Walmart, but it's a great core workout and fun too. I've been thinking about getting a weighted hoop made specifically for exercise.
I don't much right now. I try to walk when I can (like parking farther away, or if two stores are fairly close we walk from one to the other if we have to hit both). I also do my Bradley exercises, but I don't even break a sweat doing those so I don't know that it counts. I keep meaning to start prenatal yoga again but keep putting it off.
