Cookie Exchange

Has anyone ever held a cookie exchange? I am wanting to do a christmas party/ cookie exchange for my friends & family.

If so, did you serve dinner? light apps? no food?

Did you pre-print the recipes on cards for everyone or just have everyone bring copies?

How many dozen cookies did each person bring?

Re: Cookie Exchange

  • I have been to one before.

No other foods it was a Sunday morning/afternoon.

Each person brought either a dozen or 2 dozen cookies, pretty much whatever the recipe called for.  They also brought copies of their recipe and they were put under the platter of each cookie.

Also she provided take home baggies, for any extra cookies =)

  • I went to a few with my mom. They bake X number of cookies (I think it was enough for like 5-10 cookies pp) and make X number of copies of the recipe. You bring your own tin for the enchange. It was a Friday night and she's Italian, so she made a ton of food lol.
  • Cool. Thanks girls.  Ive never had one but thought it would be fun.

  • H's aunt hosts one every year on a Sunday afternoon near Christmas.

She does appt (shrimp trays, meatballs, cheese trays, crackers and brie, etc). She also serves wine, sodas, beer, punch, sometimes a specialty drink,

Everyone brings a dozen or so cookies with copies of the reciepes. It's normally the same family/family friends/work friends so they bring tins or containers but she always has some extras and/or bags to put them in!

Everyone loves it and looks forward to it every year! It's grown to about 75-100 people! It's great.
