this may be a dumb question...

I got a preapproved for a credit card, now we get a ton of these. But this one's USAA and chase (who my credit card is with now) has been pissing me off. I'm pre approved for a lower APR% than I currently have, and until Nov 2011 its 0%. So I can transfer funds and continue my payment plan which will have it paid off well before Nov. There's really no reason for me not to do it,.... And yes, I've consulted with my mom about it haha.

Heres my question... If I'm preapproved does that guarantee that percentage? or may it change after I apply?

  • I believe it could change but not significantly.  However, USAA is really good with their rates and point plans.  We use USAA for just about everything and have never had an issue.

We use USAA for everything too, even growing up its what my family used. Which is why I'd really like to switch to them. Their customer service is far superior compared to chase.

  • Normally if you're preapproved you should get that rate.

I would switch if you have a balance and save the money on interest.  We pay ours off every month, so rates aren't as much to us as reward programs.
