Nuvaring anyone?
Have any of you used the Nuvaring for BC? I was talking to my dr about it at my last gyno appointment and was just looking to see if anyone had any thoughts. I am awful about taking the pill so I don't want to do that. I have extremely irregular periods (I'm talking 62 days between my last one and this one) so I just want to get regulated already. I am tired of being surprised by AF! Any thoughts or feedback is appreciated! TIA!

I just started it last month, so I'm on my second ring, and I'm really happy with it so far! The first month I was totally paranoid about it being in there and now I'm more comfortable with it. I like not having to remember to take my pill everyday, I was good about it during the week but not so much on the weekends.
I switched from the pill because all the hormones were just getting to me and I had no sex drive, I've definately noticed an improvement in my sex drive and my general disposition.
It also made my last period, my first one on it, a lot lighter.

I used to use it until we quit getting samples at work. I used it for about a year and loved it. I never had a problem remembering to take pills, but it was just so nice to not have to worry about it. It really isn't that difficult to insert. I usually used 2 hands, one to pinch it with, the other to shove it in with. Random, but at the end of the 3 weeks, I usually took it out while in the shower, and when it was time to reinsert a new one, I also did that in the shower, with one leg up on the edge of the tub.
Reps have told us that if you have trouble inserting, you can use a tampon applicator. Just remove the cotton part, put the ring in, and then insert as if oyu were inserting a tampon. I never tried it so can't vouch for it.
Brian never said anything about my ring. I asked if he could feel it, and sometimes he did. They say most guys can't feel it, and if they can, they don't care. If they are creeped out by it, the ring can be removed for up to 3 hrs and then reinserted.
Oh, the only "side effect" I noticed from it was an increase in discharge. Not itchy d/c, just more of the usual discharge.

You also do have an increased chance of yeast infections.
I was on if from my Jr. year of high school through my Jr. year of college. My sex drive was in the toilet and got "hot flashes" of sorts when changing from cold to warm temperatures (like intolerable)... and ended up going all nautral the last 4 years temping/charting.
The convenience though was a HUGE plus, in three, out one, and around you go. And just like BCP, you can "skip" AF if you need to by reinserting another ring (but may have some breakthrough bleeding).
