What's this electric mattress pad you speak of? Is it like a heated mattress pad? If so, I'm jealous!
Re: Burkems
The Sand in My Snow Boots
Sorry to butt in, but we have one too, and it is fantastic! I know we don't live in a cold-weather climate, but there are a couple of months each year where we do use it. And, if you back hurts or is sore or whatever, it is a god send. I totally recommend it.
My only complaint is that I can't just throw it in the washing machine like a regular matress pad. At least with ours, you have to soak it, wash it on gentle, and then let it air dry. Kind of a pain.
I have mine under my regular mattress pad (so we can't feel the wires, DH complained), so I don't even wash mine, I just wash the regular mattress pad.
But yeah, best thing ever. My mom turns hers on before she gets into bed so she climbs into a warm bed. Mine has a safety feature where it won't work if there isn't weight on the bed (which I like b/c I am forgetful!) but it heats up really quickly.
Definitely get one with dual controls so you and hubs can pick how warm you want it. I would never get warm if he was in control.
