So apparently my 2nd cousin has a son who's middle name is Langston, and
she apparently is all pissed off that we're naming our son Langston.
Really?! Are you kidding me? They don't live near us, we aren't close,
and I didn't even know his middle name was Langston. Apparently they
asked my mom to have me reconsider the name...really?

For real? That's ridiculous. I bet they don't even call him by his middle name unless he's in trouble.
My kid brother shares a first name with our cousin. The world hasn't stopped spinning yet and it's been 21 years. Your 2nd cousin needs to chill the eff out.
Thats absolutely insane! I agree with the other girls. Eff her...you like the name stick with it. She cant claim dibbs on her sons middle name and ask that no one else name their kids that!
And thats a completely immature way to go about doing it.

Wow. What is she...five? I mean, come on.
On a strange note, I could so see the same thing happening in my family. I really like the name Sophie (which I know is really popular). If I ever have a daughter, I'd like to name her that. My step-cousin's daughter's name is Sophie, and I could totally see her asking my aunt to call my mom and ask me to change my mind. And, btw, I've met my step-cousin twice in my life.
As everyone else said, do what you want and don't look back.

Exactly. Your second cousin's kid obviously isn't the only person who has ever heard of the name. Stick with your name. She's just crazy.
