Yay for Friday! I've got some banked time, so I'm taking off shortly after lunch today, which is good, because I've got to hit the gym, go to the dry cleaners and then get home and shower before going to for tapas and drinks for a friends sort of bachelorette night.
Then tomorrow we're off to one of my university friends weddings, with the traditional Catholic gap. Thankfully the reception is just next to one of the biggest malls in the area (Vaughn Mills for those in the know).
Sunday we're raking up the leaves and then going to my mom's place for dinner to celebrate my brothers graduation from college. Yikes. Busy!
On a happy note, Derek and I bought art last night! I'm so glad we went to the art sale early, because several people had their eye's on the piece I loved. This little beauty, called One Afternoon, now lives with us!
What's everyone else up to this weekend??
Re: Happy Friday!
Hi Ladies,
I'm spending today trying to figure out what forms I need to complete for my leave, and what type of leave I'm entitled to as an intern teacher. Mostly we just need to know when/if I'll lose my benefits so Sean's insurance can take over.
Saturday I have a baby shower for one of my good friends (I still haven't gone shopping) I suck I know. Then I have a late lunch with my birth mom her partner and my bio grand parents.
Sunday Ok lets be real from now on every day is a weekend for me
I'm celebrating being at 20 weeks, and praying the babies stay put for at least 4 more weeks.
TGIF! Enjoy your early start to the weekend raynes. And great snag on the art.
I'm heading out to dinner tonight with a friend from home. And then DH and I are off tomorrow for four days in Tromso, Norway, in the artic circle, in search of the northern lights. Cross your fingers that we see something like this:

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Love the art raynes!
Sushi - good luck, hope you catch a good show. I've never seen them in person.
So glad it's Friday as it's been a long tiring week, but at the same time not looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow I'm going for lunch with my parents and we get to have a very, very awkward conversation about my brother and I "supporting" (i.e. funding) my parents' retirement - not because they're poor, but because my dad has grown accustomed to a flippin high-end lifestyle that his very good pension just can't support. Sigh.

Happy Friday, all. Today's going to be busy with more event prep, but five o'clock will get here.
This should be a quiet weekend. We'll probably do the norm and go to the gym, get all our errands done, do some reading and writing. Nothing too exciting, but it's all good.
Happy Friday everyone! Raynes- love the art. FMO- It's so crazy to me how short the pregnancy is/may be with triplets.
Tonight, I'm letting DH plan whatever we do. Tomorrow morning, I am getting up early to do the Diabetes Walk at the zoo. I will spend the afternoon studying for my 2-15 license, and then that night we have a goodbye party for a friend of a friend that will be lot of fun. Sunday is church and then going to see my mom and her gf (they've been on a road trip of the Northeast for 2 weeks and get back today). The rest of Sunday evening, I'll be studying for my 2-15 again.
I also love the art!
I'm frantically marking an assignment for 11 am today. I have 7 more essays to go... eep!

Good luck on your Northern Lights search, they are beautiful. Before we moved we would occasionally get a glimpse of them in the Winter.
Today a friend and I are going on a day trip. DH and I now live on the ocean and she is taking me just a few hours away to a little town known for good surf, not that we are going surfing but we will be watching some waves. It also has a boardwalk that goes through quite a jungle-y area. So I am looking forward to that.
No other real plans for this weekend. Probably just a lazy weekend soaking up some time with DH before he has to bury himself in research projects.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Good Morning and Happy Friday.
Today is a busy day at work and home. DH is at home to meet the plumber, pest control and ADT so after today those things can all be crossed off the list!
We are having a couple of DH's sister's over tonight and I am really hoping my new niece is born this weekend!
Beautiful art work! I really like it. Where are you going to hang it?
Sushi, I hope you get to see the northern lights that would be amazing.
FMO good luck with the paper work. I hate paper work.
Tonight I'm going to a friends house to watch V for Vendetta and see the home theater he built, (screen, seats the whole works) It's also the 5th of November so V for Vendetta is a perfect choice.
Tomorrow I'm finishing some home projects and going to buy a turkey roaster since this year is my first Thanksgiving.
Sunday I have no clue. Free time to do what we want.
Tomorrow we have the last farmer's market of the season, but it will be a cold one. It's supposed to get down to 20 F here tonight. I have a feeling that it will not be much warmer at 5:30 when we leave. I think we're going out with some friends for Kyle's birthday tomorrow night.
Sunday I'm hoping to get home to visit my family. My sister and BIL will be in town, so it would be great to see everyone. It's looking like another busy weekend for me.
Happy Friday ladies. This week seems to have gone on forever.
Raynes--great art!
Ringy--hope the convo goes well. I know you've said that it's expected in your culture that you and your brother will support your parents, but is there any way to talk them into a more modest lifestyle at least?
Sushi--enjoy your trip. Bring back pictures. I did a report in 5th grade about the Northern lights, and I've always wanted to see them but never have.
This weekend should be pretty relaxing, with some housework and family stuff thrown in. Tonight we're just going to hang out at home and watch a movie. Tomorrow we have brunch with friends followed by cleaning out our closets and some other stuff around the house. Sunday, we're going to BIL's apt warming party followed by dinner with my parents and aunt and uncle. Somewhere in there, I'm hoping to fit in a run and some work.
Either in the dining room, or to still-to-be-finished-that-I-haven't-really-blogged-yet family/living room.
I love V for Vendetta. So effed up. In our card to our friends, I'll probably write "Remember remember the 6th of November" 'cause I'm a dork.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Happy Friday! Tonight we are going to a birthday party for one of Jim's frat brothers down in Clarendon.
Saturday is a monitoring visit at the RE, groceries, pick up meds from specialty pharmacy, maybe a movie date (love free movie passes with Coke Reward points).
Sunday is church, laundry and dinner at SIL.

Good morning ladies!!
I'm so glad the weekend is here. For the first time this semester I don't have tons of homework to do. This weekend is gonna be pretty laid back. On Sunday Eddie and I will be attending our first baptism class so we are very excited.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday ladies!
raynes - love the art.
ringy - I hope that isn't too awkard of a conversation.
sushi - have a great trip.
I hope to have a chill day today since I didn't get much sleep last night. Tonight I'm going to watch Manuel and our co-ed softball team play the last game this season. I think we're all going to dinner after but not sure yet.
Saturday we're going to DH's cousins baby shower. We still need to go buy a gift which I'm sure we'll do tomorrow morning.
Sunday we don't have plans. I want to stay home and sleep in, then do nothing for the rest of the day.
Have a great weekend ladies!
Thanks everyone. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures; even if we don't see the lights it'll still be a good trip. We'll be dogsledding and cross country skiing, and may take a short cruise. I'll post an update (and hopefully some fab pics) when I'm back on Wednesday.
Have a great weekend all!

We'll see. I certainly hope so, but probably not in the immediate future - my mom says that my dad needs to "save face" for the time being. They might consider downgrading in a few years but he can't do it right now or his friends will talk. In either case, my brother and I can't afford to support everything he wants, so he may not have a choice unless he has some big pot of savings that I don't know about. (Don't get me wrong - they are not broke by any means, but a lot of their wealth is tied up in non-interest bearing assets like real estate.)

I just finished my Friday afternoon run (yay 7 miler!). We were invited out with friends from work for dinner tonight, but I'm not sure if we are going to go or not. If not we will make steaks that we just got fresh from a friend who raises cows! Either option will include a beer or two!
Tomorrow and Sunday are yard work if the rain goes away and maybe meeting up with my parents if they go to Boston for an auction. Other than that it should be a lazy weekend! Can't wait!
