I agree, if you love it, buy it!
Derek was afraid that by buying the piece we did we'd be pigeonholed into that type and would have to get stuff that "matches". I told him that as long as we love it, it matches!

Ditto! Buy what you love! We bought a painting of a mug of hot chocolate with anthropomorphic marshmallows jumping into it.
