TMI Post

So I am on my period and have ruined new sheets. I feel horrible and they were a wedding gift. Great.

Do you have different sheets you use during that time of the month?

I am definitely using different sheets from now on.

Re: TMI Post

  • No, I don't use different sheets.
I've actually never spotted on the sheets - I typically wear tampons to bed or if I need a break I make sure it's a "night" pad since those are longer for extra coverage to help avoid spotting if you're laying on your stomach or back.

What you can do is put a towl down where you might spot that way you don't ruin any sheets or have to change them out just because it's that time of the month.

  • It happens...

I just use a bit of hydrogen peroxide if it does.

  • DH and I have a couple sets of light or cream colored sheets.  I try not to use those during my time of the month and if they're already on and I don't feel like changing them, sometimes I've put a towel down just in case.  Other than that, I also use the night time pads cuz they offer more coverage / protection.

I don't spot normally but I know it can happen so I get paranoid and stick to dark sheets, pajama bottoms and undies so it won't be as noticable if it does!

This. I was really cranky when it happened the day after I changed the sheets.

Ditto all of this.  It's not an issue now, but when it was I would charge to dark sheets if I thought about it.  If not, I didn't put a towel down, but instead a dark blanket that I didn't care about. But even then it usually wasn't an issue.  I know sometimes you're caught unawares, but during TOM I use a pad at night in addition to a tampon, and if I think it's coming I sleep with a pantyliner.

  • Yes, it happens during months when I have a heavy flow.

This actually happened at the beginning of October.  I went to a wedding in Napa and stayed at the house of a freind's friend.  I had just started my period and had an especially heavy flow and I stained her white sheets.  I was mortified to say the least.  I went home soon after.
