Traverse City Raves from a Hoosier

Hi ladies!

A couple months ago I asked for TC suggestions for our vacation, which was last week. I wanted to thank you for the fantastic suggetions, and offer up a few of our favorite spots! I will try to keep it brief, but would be happy to elaborate if anyone has questions. Thanks again!

Restaurants:

Art's out in Glen Arbor--we stopped here after hiking sleeping bear dunes for lunch. Awesome homemade soups, terrific atmosphere. Take cash, they take no cards!

Red Mesa Grill--my husband loves mexican food and begged to go somewhere not "Fru fru" we shared fajitas that were great and their margaritas were great. Apparently it is the largest tequila bar in Michigan--very chill but terrific!

North Peak Brewing Co.--we stopped here to watch football on a rainy afternoon. The beer was great and the staff was friendly, and very accommodating of  us just hanging out.

Tratoria Stella--this was our "big" dinner on our last night in town. Amazing. Worth every penny. Make a reservation though, several people suggested it to us and had we not we would have gotten to wait more than an hour. This was our favorite spot!

The Green Cafe--we stopped here for a hearty breakfast before heading out to hike Sleeping Bear. It was awesome and really cheap for all the food you got! Nice staff too.

Vineyards: Chateau Leelinau, Shady Lane, and Black Star were great. Left foot is REALLY different, but fun if you want something totally uniqure. Brys was stunning, and while we felt it was amazing wine it is also pretty pricy.

Accommodations--we stayed at the Park Place right downtown and it was perfect location!! The hotel itself was nice, and the bar on the top floor was really fun. The full service restaurant was nice as far as hotel restaurants go. The hotel has been refurbished with some nice updates, and is a tad on the noisy side, but any bit of that made up for being a couple blocks from EVERYTHING downtown.

So there are my unsolicited opinions--I am sure you all know better than I do, but I really wanted to share our favorites! We are already planning our next trip back because we loved TC so much! Thanks again
