Speaking of... what do YOU want for Christmas from DH?
I'm not sure what I want this year! Besides a baby hahaha What are your ideas for you??
Re: Speaking of... what do YOU want for Christmas from DH?
So glad you posted this b/c i need inspirations for my list as well. So far i have the basic boring sh*t i ask for every year: candles (love Slankin - from Bath and Body), reed diffusers, Pier1 GC, sweats. I may also ask for a magazine subscription but i can't think of anything else.
I would love the new uggs that are tall and have the three buttons up the side but they are a little expensive for our new xmas budget. And the other stuff i want, i cannot rely on DH to pick out - like tall boots, dress, jeans, etc.
A divorce
Hahaha
But so the guy I've been seeing was telling me I need to tell him some stuff I might want for Christmas and I was like hugs and kisses and cuddles! and he was like nooo you get those anyway and I was like well just take me on a hot date and he was like a hot date is already included. So I told him I couldn't properly enjoy a gift because I am totally broke and a terrible gift giver, so I'd feel crappy about not getting him something awesome. And he said "Let me wake up next to you on Christmas morning and I'll be set"
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
lol okay done hijacking your post...
Awwwwwww!!! Hayley thats so sweet!!!
I haven't asked for anything specific but HH says he already knows what he's getting me and its something I've never asked for. I have no idea what it could be. Last year he bought me a bunch of clothes that I LOVE so I'm hoping for more of those. Jewlery is always good to =] We were looking a diamond bracelets last week so maybe I'll get one of those!
I have been dropping hints for months that our vacuum cleaner is on the fritz and considering how much I vacuum...I think I deserve a new, much nicer one
I really want the Dyson DC25 Animal
I would love to have a dyson! They're so freaking expensive though!
I'm going to tell Adam I want to start baby making time early. For reals.
I really don't want a whole lot anyway. Maybe another ring, even though they're "anniversary bands" and it's not our anniversary or maybe an amyethist (sp?) ring or something.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I have no clue what to ask for either. The baby wishes are on the list of course but other than that I have no clue what I want or even what to get DH.
What are you DH asking for this year?
Dude, get a Nook! We could share books!
Hayley, you made me LOL, literally. And that is sooo sweet of New Guy With Fever.
I want a bunch of things, but I don't know what I'm going to actually get. I'd love to get a Nike+ sportband. I'd also like a pack of Bondi Bands (they hold your hair back and absorb sweat while you run). I'd like a new purse... I have my eye on a cute Jessica Simpson one. And I can never have too many Barnes & Noble gift cards.
Mainly I just want him to keep it in a reasonable price range. His whole family tends to go way overboard for Christmas and birthdays (in relation to their means), and I hate that. Since we have all of our finances combined, it sort of annoys me because I'm the one who handles the money and who has to figure out how to cover the shortfall left by his generosity to me! LOL
That is so freaking sweet! It is what you deserve! A man that is just happy to be next to you in the morning that is pretty awesome. It makes me smile for you! Happy Dancin for you Hayley! You so deserve someone spoiling you after all you have been through!
Yeah, they both are pretty good, really. There's a sticky post over on NBC with some good links to help you compare the two. I like the Nook because I can turn pages with a swipe on the touchpad part instead of having to squeeze a button every time. The Nook also lets you buy from any store that carries the ePub format, and it lets you borrow ebooks from libraries, which was a huge consideration for me. The Kindle restricts you to just Amazon files unless you jailbreak it, though they say that's easy to do.
We were JUST talking about Christmas the other day and we decided we are going to forego gifts to each other this year. We spent so much on the wedding and are on a roll with paying down debt. We are doing wedding photos in nice frames as gifts to our families. The rest of our focus is on the children (my stepson and all of our nieces & nephews).
I will be asking my mom to look for a nice pair of modest stud earrings for me. I don't have any in right now because I lost one of my current pair. And I can't find any of my other earrings in pairs because the burglars knocked my jewelry box to kingdom come when they came in the window over the dresser.
I just heard on the radio this morning that the store that we bought our wedding bands, my engagement ring, and my love knot necklace from is closing. Bummer! But I could probably find a deal on some 1/4 ct. diamond studs now that they are 70-80% off and Mom could say "Merry Early Christmas!"
LOL, sorry! I live and breathe this stuff lately, so I forget that not everyone spends as much time reading about digital-rights management as I do.
This article explains it pretty well, I think: http://jasongriffey.net/wp/2010/08/25/ebooks-filetype-and-drm/ Just ignore that picture of the Sony e-Reader ad that claims it's sexier than I am.
This one talks about ebooks and ereaders more generally: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2371575,00.asp The prices are slightly outdated, but it's still a decent overview.
Yeah, only the 4 bedrooms in our house are carpet, everything else is tile...but we already need to clean our bedroom and tv room carpet from the dogs so I think the dyson is worth the investment.
I love my nook!! Kelly, we should trade books!!
And I love my Dyson Animal too...with two cats, it picks up so much fur!! DH is OCD about vacuuming so that was his purchase when we moved in together.
I want charms for my Pandora bracelet. I also want a pair of flannel pants from this company in Vermont- they are amazing!! Other than that I'm really not sure what I want...
We haven't discussed Hanukkah yet and it starts Dec 1st! I would love a DSLR but can't ask for one (too expensive). I'd be happy with the Urban Decay Naked palette, since I feel guilty spending $40 on makeup. We've want iPhones if they go to Verizon (Jan?), but DH has also said he'd probably want to wait until the summer when they come out with the new model.
I started my list months ago because I have a horrible memory. If I saw something that I wanted, I typed it into my iPhone and now I have a nice little list. This is my whole list -- not just stuff that I'd like DH to get me.
- New digital camera (DH and I have matching cameras that we got at high school graduation in 2005. Yeah. Old school. They don't even make memory sticks for them anymore.)
- Risers for our front loading washer/dryer -- Hoping the parents will get these for us?
- Dirt Devil Kurv vacuum (Cute little handheld that sits in the corner and looks stylish. I want to keep it upstairs so I can quickly vacuum hairs off the bathroom floors w/o lugging our real vacuum up there.)
- Pioneer Woman's cookbook
- Wallet -- Haven't picked one out though
- Fake Black Uggs from Target
- Gift cards: Victoria's secret, target, itunes, crate & barrel
Haha, my digital camera is from 2005, too! Except I graduated from college that year. I feel so old now.
A couple of days ago I realized that our incoming freshmen in the fall will be 10 years younger than I am.
Regarding Vacuums!
I have a canister vac and I would definitely prefer the bags! Much easier to deal with, dust and dirt does could up when you dump the canister, so yucky. And I do have to dump really often, especially with vacuuming up a lot of dog hair!
