thanksgiving turkey brine??
each year i do a different brine, i LOVE to cook and this is one of my fave holidays. i cook WAY to much food. anyways im looking for a brine thats not the normal. i found a citrus brine was wondering what everyone thought on it is. latelty i have been using alot of citrus.

We do the citrus brine every year. We include lots of rosemary and sage and go through a bad of oranges.
It is DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend it.

You have to brine a fresh turkey. Let it soak overnight at a MINIMUM. We try to do 2 days if we can. Don't skimp on the salt. It's called brine for a reason.
Feel free to go overboard on the seasoning. Usually add an extra onion and an extra whole garlic bulb.
If you can't taste the difference, something probably went wrong. On ours, even the flesh looks different. It's slightly darker and has a pink hue to it.

you have probably already seen it but Pioneer Woman wrote about a brine in which she used orange zest.
