Dole loses, it will be the first time since 1952 that a Bush or a Dole
is not holding major elective office, either as a governor, senator,
congressman, or president. (Prescott Bush was elected to the US Senate
in '52).

Oooh that's a good one. That's worse than something a baseball announcer would come up with. I'm getting swamped with all these stupid poll comparisons to 2004 & 2000. Kerry was up X points at this time in such n' such a poll, but down in this other one, and Bush's spread was X points narrower than the actual votes in such n' such a state. blah blah blah.
I am so pumped about this. Liddy Dole has been running an ugly campaign, trying to smear her opponent because he - gasp! - associates with atheists. I am Christian, but my husband is atheist. He is tired of being maligned. And it's not just the religious right. In study after study, there are a disturbing number of people who say they would never vote for an atheist. The Constitution imposes NO religious test for holding office, and I'm so sick of people's faith being used as a political tool.
