NER: Foodies--slow cooker question
I always always always cook roasts in the slow cooker and love it. Now that we have the commute from hell, though, I'm concerned that the meat might end up over-cooked (it would be in the pot for 11-12 hours). What if I started with a frozen roast? Will it turn out ok in that kind of time, anyone know?
Thanks!
In case you're wondering where everyone went:

Re: NER: Foodies--slow cooker question
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who automates my cooking with a re-appropriated tool.
As long as you set it on "low," it should be fine. We always have to cook things for 10-12 hours, due to our work schedules.
You get creative when you work 10 hrs/day and have a 30 minute commute each way.
I actually am not a big fan of the crock pot, though.
Oh I need one of these now.
Somehow my crock pot lets a little steam out and dries things out, even on low.
