Recommend/help me find a laundry hamper

Hi ladies,

I am in desperate need of a sturdy laundry hamper, preferably one where you can sort laundry.  I have a nice wicker one in my closet for my clothes, but I keep a seperate one in the utility room for towels and DH's dirty work clothes.  The one I currently have in there is a piece of crap.  It's a mesh bag that loops over an aluminum frame using velcro.  After a few damp towels or pairs of jeans are dumped in it, it falls part.  I like the look of it and the fact that the mesh bag is washable, but it isn't sturdy enough.  Help me find one online or recommend yours to me please! I'm looking to spend $60 or less.  TIA!!!

Re: Recommend/help me find a laundry hamper

  • We got our 3 compartment one at costco, definitely for less then $60.  It has 3 non-separable canvas bags and ties to wire cart. The canvas is washable i believe.  We pretty much stuff it full weekly and haven't had any issue. 5 years and going strong.

  • I just use small laundry baskets in my laundry room.

  • The hamper we have sounds like the 1st posters hamper. We purchased ours at Target for about $40. We have had it for almost 3 years and it hasn't fallen apart on us yet. I love it to because it has wheels so I can wheel right into the laundry room.
  • I have four tall wicker baskets in the master closet and we sort stuff as we use it (whites, darks, tans and grays, towels - this has been DH's sorting method since he left home so I just go with it).  I found the baskets on sale at BBB for $12 or so each and snatched them up.
