What did you do today?

I volunteered at the library and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Then I went and bought some warm and fuzzy fleece pajamas (which I am already wearing) and a floor length zip front hooded robe made out of sweatshirt material since I have decided I can't purchase a snuggie.

Re: What did you do today?

  • Nice, Mod!
We went out for breakfast, ordered carpet, went to the grocery, then I came home and took a nap because I'm feeling run down. My boob hurts and I'm afraid I'm getting mastitis. Boo. Now we're lounging on the  couch with a blanket watching season 2 of the Wire.

  • We are on the same wavelength today Kristen. I looked at buying a couple of area rugs but was on the bus not in the car. Maybe tomorrow.

  • That sounds great, Mod

I sat in a 6 hour training.  About a website.  A free website that requires no log-in or special access, and is 100% free.  A website, thus, that I could have explored just as easily from the comfort of my own couch for a couple of hours and then used the rest of my day to be productive.

Then I came home and took a 3 hour nap because I had a raging headache from hell.

And now I'm drinking wine again, so all is well with the world ;)

  • Slept in because I was out til 2 dancing in entirely impractical shoes, late lunch with friends, and now I am sitting down to eat the best tacos I have ever made in my whole life. I finally picked up some chipotle seasoning and added it to the meat. Also made some guac to put on them. I had two because usually for me 2 is pleasantly full, 3 is nearing painful. I wish I had made three. I am considering going back for another.

  • I had every intention of going back to bed after I took Moxie out this morning but I checked my email  and was reminded the online training for our new interactive white boards started at 10 am. It's part of our "homework" before sitting through an actual training session on Thursday so I feel Shamwow's pain.

But other than that, my day revolved largely around food and wearing comfy clothes.

Dunkin Donuts & stupid training for an hour; Holiday Craft Show & Chocolate covered Oreos; dog park; lunch & a book; nap; ordered pizza; grading & watching my wedding video; and now I'm about to tear into those Oreos.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • I drove from Omaha back to OKC with a coworker. That sucked.

Then came back and picked up Connor.   That did not suck.  He's very cuddly and sweet and in a great mood tonight.  That's exactly what I wanted to come home to!  (That and a clean-ish house, which I also have so it's been a good evening)

  • Unfortunately, nothing exciting.  I washed a bunch of dishes that had been in storage, did laundry, and unpacked a few boxes, then went and bought a new shower head (the old one made a terrible high-pitched whine if you dared to use hot water).  We had Chipotle for dinner, in the hopes that it would kickstart things.
  • Poor Rosen. I can't believe your daughter isn't here yet. It's like she's already a teenager, spending forever getting ready.

Wendy how long is that drive?

It's probably about 7-8 hours of drive time, plus stops of course.

  • Ugh Wendy too long

  • Thanks, Mod--kid is like a teenager: lazy and disobedient.  Although her staying in this long meant I could go to a wine tasting festival/fundraiser thing last night that was tons of fun.  The woman at one station refused to pour for me (even though I was actually spitting out most of the wine I tried!), but other than that one chick, it was great.

  • Yeah Rosen,  Chipotle! It evicted both my kids. Any cx yet? Anything?

  • Went to the Gap for 40% off day, then to Kmart to buy E holiday gifts with the gift cards I got from The View last year, then E napped for 3 hours, I did laundry and napped, then we went to dinner in the mall and let E run around until 8:30 so he'd go to bed later because of Daylight Savings. Hopefully we won't have a 5a wake-up.
  • Kristen, I totally thought of you when I told my H that's where I wanted to have dinner. :)  I've been having some fairly uncomfortable contractions the last couple of days, but they're still everywhere from 7 to 20 minutes apart.
  • Two words: castor oil. :)

  • We did this

and went to the zoo (he slept through it) AND I steam cleaned my carpet and couch. I'm equal parts disgusted and giddy over what came out.

  • Buddha, Ethan is super cute but I think the part about your couch might belong in the Guilt Thou Art Furry thread.

There is something so satisfying about getting all that junk out of your carpet and sofa.

  • We've been steam cleaning everything today. Well, Lorne has, and I've been on kid duty (I think I have the better end of the deal). Lorne started with Will's room while Will and I washed his bazillion blankets and sheets and Mr. Lion, then Lorne moved into the living room to work while I took the kids for a walk. Then we ate lunch, then nap time. During nap time I reorganized a closet so I could get some shipping and craft show supplies in it, reorganized my craft area and my fabric and rearranged it after Lorne steam cleaned the area so we'll have space to put a smallish dining room table there soon. Then playing, dinner, more playing, and now Lorne is reading Will stories and I'm lounging on the couch with Evie. I think we're going to use the upholstery attachment on all our furniture tomorrow.

I really wanted to purge everything from the closet I reorganized, but it's the closet where Lorne keeps his random electronic supplies, which include things like old computers and old DVD players and 8,000 wires. Because he might need the parts to fix something later.

  • We went to the grocery store (on the way out I noticed Ian was holding two packs of bubble gum he had swiped while I was checking out) then to the library for some more books.  We spent the rest of the day at home.  I made marinara sauce with sausage in the crock pot and taught Ian more animal noises.  He now has "moo," "neigh," and "woof" down, but woof sounds more like "woo."
  • We had a family weekend at my aunt's condo at the lake. My cousin's GF is a wine distributor, so we did some awesome wine tasting, did some major power shopping, tied up my two uncles' boats in a cove and had a little wine and cheese party, then cooked a big awesome meal, did some dancing, and all watched The Hangover together at the end of the night, I seriously LOVE my Dad's side of my family. D and I drove home this morning and enjoyed a lovely lazy Sunday.

  • Sorry...I DD'd (and all children posts). Got an email saying I had been C&P'd to a "secret" board (not one from here).
  • Really Jen? What the hell? People are really creeping around and C&Ping crap from threads talking about what we did on the weekend?

    Get an effing life.

I went to work for a bit today, did a little cleaning, and then went to my basketball game.

MAKE SURE YOU C&P THAT JUICY TIDBIT FOR YOUR CREEPY STALKER FILES. Losers.

  • I'm drunk and Jens' uncle peeped on me in my bedroom once.

It was only a dream. BUT STILL. You should note that. In your files.

  • I have no idea what was deleted and C&Pd. But today we went to the Big Day Out with Thomas. Will almost exploded. BAM. C&P THAT.

    How dare you!

Strike that from your records, stalkers. Uncle's a ten is a gentleman and a family man, and would never do such a thing.

  • HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT BEFORE?

I'm so ashamed. I hope you will still consider  renting your apartment to me.

  • I made beef stew and banana cream pie then didn't eat the pic because once it was made it sounded disgusting to me.
