So I had my Arbonne launch party yesterday; I was supposed to have 3 people show up and only 2 did (one of which was my Mom)! I barely sold anything, which is very discouraging! ![]()
A friend of mine is throwing me a party this weekend, which hopefully will go better.
I work with all men so it's not like I had female coworkers to purchase things. They do have a few things in their mens line, but only 1 guy has said he's buy something from me...it's a start I guess.
Don bought some moisturizer from me yesterday to support me...which I loved. He keeps saying that he'll buy whatever I need him to.
I wish some of you ladies lived close buy so I could invite you all. The only good thing is that I can ship to anywhere in the US, Canada, and Europe.
Has anyone here tried to start up a business of their own who could give some advice so I don't get discouraged after yesterdays poor party?
Re: Party
I'm sorry it didn't go as you wanted it to!
I've never started a home show business. Maybe put it out there on FB that you're a consultant and it's the perfect time to book a party for a holiday?
I'd buy something but Arbonne is murder on my skin and I think it's $$.
Sorry your first party wasn't much success. Hopefully the one this weekendn will go better but I would definitely do as Steph suggested and advertise and put yourself out there on FB and all. Most sellers have a website so link that bad boy for people to purchase online incase they don't want/can't host a party.
GL!
I agree with that! Also, it will probably take some time to get it going. It's tough to find the balance between getting your name out there and being pushy. Ask if you can put up a flier on a bulletin board at work, your gym, your church, etc. If you don't get permission, it's NBD, but it's a cheap way to get your info to a wide variety of people. I would definitely set up an e-mail for JUST Arbonne sales, though, and not attach your personal info to it, if you're going to post it publicly.
Jen, I'm sorry your party didn't go as well as you had hoped. But as Steph suggested, you can advertise on FB. Just stick with it the best you can. Maybe put together some flyers and hand them out to women you see at the mall, grocery store, etc.
I tried selling Partylite last year but it didn't work out. My first party didn't turn out as I had expected. I made about $500 in sales, but had a small turnout. The hard part for me was trying to get people to host parties. It's one thing to just sell the product, but then you have to get people to commit to host a party. It was so awkward for me asking people "would you like to host a party?" I felt like I was hounding them and stalking them until they agreed to host one. I ended up quitting, but I ended up with some nice product and $200 worth of credit.
