~ Aerorea ~ re: clothes

have you thought about hiring a seamstress/tailor to take in some of your clothes? I lost a ton when I was in college (thank you verra much, Internship!) and I took in some items and just had them cut way down.

I'm not sure it would be so much less than buying new, but it could help you out!

Re: ~ Aerorea ~ re: clothes

  • Hey - yeah, I've considered doing that for some dressier clothes if I need them. My MIL is good with a sewing machine and has altered some items for me in the past, but just getting them to/from her is a PITA. My problem is that most of my clothes are casual and cheap anyway - under $15/top. At that price point, it wouldn't be a huge savings to have them altered. I'm also finding a lot of my older clothes are worn out and I've been setting them aside for Good Will. I think I'm going to start selling some of my nicer items in lots on eBay. Maybe that'll help out some.

Of the clothes that do fit, I have a ton of nice sweaters and blouses that I used to wear when I worked elsewhere. Unfortunately, this place is far too casual for them. :(
