guys, thank you for your t &ps. This may get TMI, so if it does, apologies in advance.
They wanted me to go in after I explained to the doctor on call that I had light brown spotting saturday and then on sunday it turned to pink- but it was after sexy time. When I explained though that I had never had an u/s the doc wanted me to go in to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
So, last night after 3.5 hours at the hospital and being poked, prodded, shot, blood drawn... and the like... the short version is things look OK.
They couldn't find a fetal tail w/ their ultrasound machine (either externally or internally..) but informed me this was normal w/ how early I am. But they did find the sac- and it's not ectopic, so that's a very good sign.
My hcg levels are 11353...which I think is also positive- they didn't say anything to me about it last night- but I did my research and based on what I found, it puts me between 6-7 weeks, which I believed is what I was anyways. I have to call me doctor today to go back in for an ultrasound on a better machine to confirm viability and dating. So, that's where I'm at.
It was really nerve racking and my anxiety was through the roof. When they first took my b/p it was 155/80. Um. Holy crap. Then they took it again and it was 129/79. still high for me, but better. I also had to get a rogam shot bc of my blood type (um, guess where the shot was...i felt like a kid).
Thanks again everyone.
Fast forward to 1 pm, H and I go to the hospital again and get a more formal u/s.
Things look good. I'm measuring at about 6 weeks- which is what I thought I would be. Saw the gestational sac & yolk sac very clearly- nothing else though. Dr. informed me this is common for about 6 weeks and I look like "any normal 6 week pregnancy" right now, so that's good. I knew I wasn't 7 weeks like the bump/babycenter said- my cycles are longer, so this makes perfect sense to me. So now my EDD is around 6/30.
Additionally the spotting, the dr.@ the hospital thinks very well could be implantation bleeding and is definitely my blood, and nothing to be concerned about as there was none more found. So my next appt is in 10 days, and I'll be just about 8 weeks then- this is w/ my ob- not the hospital.
So, overall, feeling MUCH better.
On 2 completely different sides though:
1. My best friend had her baby last night, a baby boy, and he was born the same time i got to finally leave the hospital. I thought to myself...wouldn't it be funny if C had her baby today...diff hospitals, though.
2. I want to eat everything in site.
