Trash the Dress?

Anyone doing this...thoughts?

I kind of want to do this but don't think my dress is ideal for this type of thing plus not sure if I want to do them with the same photographer since she's apparently gone MIA with my wedding pictures.

I think it'd be fun to do but not sure I'd want to spend the money or not. Maybe I should wait to get my actual pics back first...

Re: Trash the Dress?

  • I dont think I will do it, I had thought about it but have changed my mind, dont want to ruin my dress or buy more pics lol

  • My photographer asked me if I would do this with her since I don't think anyone has ever asked her to do a TTD. We are waiting until spring when the trees start to blossom and we aren't going to trash it, but we are treating it more as a funky bridal portrait session.
  • I already sent my dress in to be preserved - so, no lol.  Love my dress too much to see it ruined!

  • I have really thought about doing it, on the beach or something. But then what do you do after its all wet and nasty put it in a trash bag and dump it. I don't know if I could bring myself to do that.

I did it 2 days after my wedding.  Got in the ocean and the pool with it.  Hung it up to dry afterwords and its hardly dirty at all.  Its hanging up in my closet now just like it was before the wedding :)  Depending on what kind of dress and what you do to trash it, sometimes they really don't get that "trashed."  =)

It was totally worth it to us.  The pics I have from the TTD session are amazing and I think that was the funnest part of my wedding.

  • I did it. The day of my wedding haha. No. Really. My dirty ripped dress is hanging in the closet like a bedraggled, forlorn orphan,  I don't have pics yet :(

That's what she said!  Ha ha.  You totally set me up for that one...

I keep thinking about doing one - especially since I wasn't super impressed with our wedding photos.  Maybe next spring when the cherry blossoms come out, or in the summer we can go back to our venue and wade out into the ponds or something.  H thinks I'm crazy for suggesting it, but I'm so disappointed that we didn't get any really creative/artsy wedding photos, I need something!
