ring advice

so i'm currently unpacking all of my boxes into mine and the fi's apartment and i come across the wedding band i purchased for my ex. he didn't want it (because...duh...he wasn't going to wear it) and i don't know how to go about returning something that had the wedding date engraved inside of it.

any suggestions on what i should do? or who to contact to sell/donate somewhere??

Re: ring advice

  • I'm quite sure that they can buff out the writing in it and/or melt it down. I would imagine if you went back to where you got it you could sell it back. If its gold you can do a cash for gold situation at most jewelry stores.
  • Ditto Laurie.  Good luck getting rid of it!

  • You could always pay a jeweler to turn it into something pretty for you :)  Unless there are painful memories associated with it. . .

  • Find a couple with your wedding date where the husband has already lost his ring (hi stacy!) and sell it to them.

I kid, I kid. I don't know anything about jewelry, everything others said sounds good to me!

LOL!!! Good one :-) And BTW - H was able to get the exact same ring as the one that he lost...and he promises that he will keep a closer eye on it!!

Ditto the pp about asking a jeweler about buffing it out or getting "cash for gold" type deal. Probably the easiest way to go about it!
