Nestie Baddie

I've been reading along, feeling rather sorry for myself, and not commenting like I should.

I've known most of you ladies since November 2006 when I was planning my wedding on the knot board. But after my wedding, things went into such limbo and I've felt a little embarrassed since. I haven't followed through with anything. First we were going to move last summer and have a second wedding before we left. Then Angi's school plans changed and we stayed. Then we stopped planning a second wedding and started planning to get pregnant. Then I couldn't do that. Then I started a juice feast and quit 20 days early. I'm in this place right now where I'm not planning anything and it's so strange. Do you know what I'm talking about?

It's a terrible thing to feel like you're living flippantly. I don't mean to moan. I do have a great life, all failures aside, and you have all been such sweet friends. I feel awful for not following through on those friendships as well.

So you know where I'm coming from and let me grovel. Will you let me back in? I miss our Friday Kitty Chitty Chats and funny polls.

Re: Nestie Baddie

  • I think i started posting here about the time you stopped but as far as I'm concerned you are definitly welcome back in! People bring you up randomly all the time and I am sure you have been missed and everyone can't wait to hear from you again!

  • I have also been less of a poster over the past several months but my feeling is once a SSnestie always a SSnestie.  Welcome back.

And for the record, I do not perceive that you can't follow through on things.  In fact, I think of you as someone who does things with enthusiasm and great drive.  Life is messy and complicated, and the shifts you have made in your life seem to me more like flexibility and reevaluation rather than lack of follow through.  Just my 2 cents.

  • Welcome back!  I've been reading your blog all along and am glad to see you here on the board once again.

As for all you describe - that's living! Plans change, adjustments have to be made, etc, etc, etc.  It is weird to not be planning anything -- at first.  You'll get used to it Smile  And there are always fun little things to plan...parties, trips, domestic undertakings, etc - just because there's no longer a major life milestone like a wedding or ttc, doesn't mean there isn't anything.  Again, glad to see you back.

  • I have to agree with the pps-- welcome back, and it doesn't feel like you've been gone at all, since I read your blog regularly. It'll be nice to see you back on here, though.  :)

And if anyone else is lurking after not having posted in a while (momo?), please know that we will always welcome you all back with open arms. For all we know, you've been on some fabulous extended vacation without internet access. *grin*

  • I'm a bad nestie too.  And now that we're getting really married here in Connecticut (looking like March), I should probably leave you all alone and head back to the knot.  I'm sure many of you are over the wedding thing at this point!

    Hello, Lady Bluemont.

not a chance! the knot is pretty dead and some weddign talk is always fun!

  • You aren't a failure sweetie... plans change, life gets in the way! You're not lacking in follow-through, you're excelling in adaptability. Big Smile
