Re: per my FB status--

  • None of your choices really worked for me.  I hear they are super warm but not actually good in the snow, though I don't know how true that is.

I personally hate them with a fiery passion, but I don't judge people for wearing them anymore because they are EVERYWHERE at this point.  And if they're really that comfy, who cares what other people think?

  • H and I entered into an agreement that if I promised to never wear uggs, he would get me mario kart. However, I would like a pair because they are warm and comfy.
  • I have (F)UGGS which I wear in the winter & loooove. They are very warm and comfy, but pointless in the snow (stained, salty, soaked, leaking mess) and can be super uncomfortable if you're on your feet for a while.

At the same time too, I absolutely REFUSE to a) tuck my jeans into them or b) wear with skirts/shorts/etc.

  • i like to think that way back in 2003 i started the ugg craze.  im sure i didnt, but in 2003, when nobody else in the greater new england area even knew what an ugg was, i started wearing them with short skirts and tucked into my pants.

SINCE THEN...i have stopped.  i am no longer 18 and that look is totally over.  i do wear my uggs all the time, knowing perfectly well that they are in fact, ugly.  i also have 4 pairs of varying heights and colors (hence the charge account i have had set up with neiman marcus since i was 18...).  i love how comfortable and warm they are.  HOWEVER, they are NOT winter weather boots.  they should not be worn in the snow or rain.   they are my cold weather version of the flip flop--effortless, comfortable, and practical (unless, like i said before, you are going to be trudging through the snow).

ETA ,this post came out sounding totally snobby when i reread it.  it is meant to sound sarcastic.

  • Many of my friends and family members love them and think they are super warm. One of my BFFs wears them daily from about now until around April or even May some years.

I personally hate them and think they are extremely ugly and unflattering.

  • I LOVE my Uggs.  They are the most comfortable boots ever.  I love wearing them when it rains because they keep my feet warm and help prevent the bottoms of my jeans from getting wet.  I have three pairs and DH said he would buy me a pair of these at the beginning of Dec.

  • I can't justify spending close to $200 for these boots so I have the generic version from Target and love them. H bought them for me last year.

I like to wear them with jeans only - not fond of the fuzzy boots and shorts or skirts look. not my style.

I suggest if you want winter boots to keep your feet warm, IMO, Sorels work great. I have a pair that i wear when we go up to the mountains and my feet stay warm and dry.

  • I know they're ugly. I know they're really ugly. But I love them. My absolute FAVORITE thing to do is after a long day skiing, buckle out of my stiff painful ski boots and put on Uggs...love.

    Squishy, fuzzy, warm.

  • I did have Ugg's LOVED them!! They were comfy and warm. I got them living up north. However, when we were on our honeymoon the guy watching out dog and our friend's dog at our house let them eat my Ugg's. So I no longer have them:( I won't buy another pair since you really don't get that much use out of them living in Florida.

This weekend  was "chilly" and we were watching said friends dog again so I kept telling them(the dogs) how I would love to be wearing my Uggs.

I really miss them. I might by (f)uggs

  • Where is the *They are horribly ugly and I refuse to purchase.  option? I don't judge people for them since 90% of the US owns them but I will not own a pair. Theres my snatchy remark.
  • I wear fake ones given to me by DH's little cousin, mostly just because they're comfy and easy to slip on...sometimes without socks. I don't think they're actually fashionable, just good as an outside slipper. I think MIL is getting me some real ones for Christmas, though...
  • Uggs are supposed to be slippers. A friend of mine studied abroad in Australia and everyone had them and they were just slippers there. I think they are fine as comfy/warm shoes to wear in the house or for taking the dogs out, but they are not to be worn in public, and they are way too expensive.

  • I love them. We rarely have snow here in Texas so I wear them all winter, I have the sand color and black and this year H is buying me dark brown. So comfy I couldn't imagen wearing anything else on a cold day.

  • I love mine even though they aren't the most attractive looking. After coaching for 5 hours and not having any feeling left in my feet because they are so cold slipping on my Uggs is fabulous. I also have them because I am not going to wear my clunky winter boats all weekend at a rink when my students have a competition or test session. I want to have something that will keep my feet warm and be comfortable.

In the winter I turn into that person that everyone side eyes....leggings with a tunic + Uggs = me after leaving the rink. Oh well!

  • Sooooo warm and cozy and comfy!  I love mine!  My favorites are my purple sweater Uggs!  Love!

  • I railed against uggs for many years.  Not just because they are pretty unattractive, but because they were so OMG in style and every tween and her mama had a pair.

Then my now mother-in-law bought me a pair and I swear I wore them everyday that winter.  I couldn't believe that closed shoes that comfortable existed.  I LOVE them.

I disagree with some of you though.  I think the only way to make uggs fugglier, is to wear your jeans on the outside. They just end up giving you cankles and looking lumpy and like timberland construction boots.  *shudder*
