Anyone wanna come clean my home?
Merry Maids said it would cost $100 an hour, minimum 2 hours for the first time. I'm suddenly feeling a little better, like maybe I can do it. I've been so tired and nauseous at night that I thought I could get a little assistance just this time. But I want to schedule someone to come once in May when I'm 9 months and in June with the new baby. Any suggestions? Luckily as I look around right now, it's not too bad. DH has been great and really trying, but he doesn't dust and vacuum well.

what about these ladies? not sure of how big a home you have or if they're any cheaper...

I have a cleaning person who charges $15 an hour and it takes her 5 hours to do my house (and my laundry :-) She is actually the step daughter of my original cleaning lady, who was the most awesome human being on the planet and my favorite person, and who did an amazing, amazing job. The step-daughter is ok - definitely not as great as her stepmom, but she's not available anymore and the new person charges the same super low rates. We used to have cleaning services come once a month or so, but they would charge us $120-140 and they weren't doing laundry. For $75, we can afford every other week, so we keep the new person even though she's only half as good as her step-mom. She's good enough for $75! I can give you her info if you want. She doesn't drive but since she can get to my house on public transportation she can probably get to yours. PM me if you are interested.
And $200 sounds high for a regular cleaning service. I would call around a bit - we had a few different companies come and we never paid more than $140, and we have a three bedroom, two story house.
Thanks everyone.
I found a service that's coming for 4 hours for $140. I'm not sure she'll find stuff to clean for four hours. So, I guess it'll be like my spring cleaning- empty and clean the fridge, the stove, windows, mopboards, ect.. She's coming Thurs, since I have the day off and then we might as well have some company over this weekend.
Mrs. Kocal, I'll see how this goes, but I may like someone coming more regularly. I'm in week 10, so I hope to feel better soon.
