Seriously about to cry

Oh eff it, I am crying.

I got a new job/promotion at work. I'm really proud of myself. Unfortunately, everyone here is really pissed at me about it. Sorry I applied myself. Sorry I'm working so hard.

I'm currently working two jobs since they haven't found a replacement for me yet. I have four presentations in the next 26 hours. My coworker is not talking to me and if he is, he is being super condescending.

Seriously bummed right now.

Re: Seriously about to cry

  • Just get in your car, drive south come visit me and I will take you for drinks!!!
  • what a bunch of jealous jerks!
i'm sorry everyone is being so mean to you - you don't deserve that at all!!!
you applied yourself, worked hard, and earned your promotion which anyone of them could have done if they tried (assuming here) - some people are just bitter  :(

  • First of all: CONGRATS! That's awesome! Proud of you!!!

Second: I'm with Jen, it's jealously. And your coworkers feeling threatened by your success. You should never ever have to be ashamed of something you earned! If they're going to be shitty to you about it then you're way better off without them?just keep working hard.

I know you were given a promotion for a reason. Your bosses believe in you and your work has proved it to them. Just take a deep breath and focus on each task at hand and I know you can get it all done, and do great!

    Don't fret! Big HUG!

  • jessica, they are just jealous of you meeting pdub.  thats all.

enjoy your promotion.  your coworkers will get over it.  you deserve to be happy, you earned this!  congrats and come over for some food and wine, yes?

  • First, congratulations!  You've worked hard and you deserve something in return.

It sucks that people are being this way, but try not to let their bitterness get you down.  Hopefully after a little while people will realize that they are being silly and things can return back to normal.  In the meantime, be proud of yourself and ignore the childishness.

  • First of all CONGRATS on the promotion, that is kick a$$ and you worked hard for it and absolutely deserve it.

    Second, jealousy sucks donkey dix.

Third, please take a minute to breathe, get a cup of coffee, step outside for a second, and then come back in and work on your presentations in the order you are presenting. You can do this.

  • Congrats on the job promotion!!

And as everyone else has said, they're jealous. Plain and simple. Tell them to shove and kick some arse with those presentations. Then have some wine and forget about them.

  • Congratulations on the promotion, that is awesome!!

I am sorry that your coworkers are being difficult. I agree with the pp, grab a cup of coffee and go outside for some fresh air. You are more then capable and will rock your presentations...you got the promotion for a reason. :)

  • What a bunch of jerks.  Don't let them get to you.  It's not like you screwed them over in order to get where you are.  (Wait, you didn't did you? Stick out tongue)  I'm assuming they had just as much of a shot at the new position as you, and there must be a good reason you were chosen.  Don't get bummed.  Be proud of yourself for your big accomplishment and screw everyone else!  They'll come around eventually, just give it time.

Congrats on the new promotion!  Sorry it came along with hostility.
