Does anyone have any tips on cleaning stove grates? I've tried steel wool, Barkeeper's Friend, vinegar and nothing seems to be doing the job. I can get the "newer" grease off but can't seem to penetrate the older, really caked on stuff. I've looked into replacing them but really don't want to spend $200 on them. Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

Re: Cleaning stove grates??
Put down some newspaper outside or in your garage. Lay the grates on the paper, and spray them with oven cleaner. Leave them sit for an hour or so, then either hose them off or bring them into the laundry tubs and wash them.Im assuming you mean the grates for your burners, and not the wire shelves in your oven.
You can also run them through the dishwasher.
