my poor coworker! re: stranded Carnival ship
One of my coworkers is on that stranded Carnival cruise ship in Baja.
I feel so bad for him & his wife... and his family. 
This is their first cruise, for both of them. It was actually gifted to them my my coworkers parents. His parents are celebrating they're 35th wedding anniversary (I think it's 35th), and offered to pay for my coworker & his wife to come along, and his sister & her family also.
I know they were both a little nervous about a cruise to Mexico anyways, but it was free & with most of his family so they decided they couldn't pass it up. Now this happens! They are reportedly getting refunded and vouchers for a free cruise, but I doubt my coworker will ever go on another one again.
Oh, and my coworkers wife has bad anxiety / panic attack problems. Oi. I hope they're ok!
And what a way to spend your 35th anniversary!

Oh no! I hope they are doing ok, as well as everyone else. I have a feeling a lot of people that are on the ship, especially first time cruisers won't use the vouchers they are offering.
I love cruising, and that would completely suck if that happened while at sea. On my first cruise in 2003 the boiler room exploded the morning we returned. Luckily we were already docked in Miami, but it killed some crew members. I'm just glad that no one was majorly hurt on the Splendour.

I'm pretty sure they should be getting off tomorrow, but my understanding is they are being towed into San Diego and then they all have to get on buses and be brought back to Los Angeles.

Oh man!! I was wondering if any of you west coast ladies knew someone on that ship!! All those poor people! I couldn't even imagine what they are going through!
again, this goes back to the fact of how much I do not like Carnival!
But, I did heard on the news this morning that the bars are open & they are giving people free drinks! Sheesh, that's the least they could do! I guess I would probably just drink all day if I was stuck on there.
Kinda makes me nervous for our cruise that's coming up, but I'm really glad we are cruising with Royal!
