5. What's the thing or person whom you are most excited to shop for? my grandma...I'm getting her a pillow pet.

7. What are you most excited/hopeful about receiving this year? probably the tv... DH and I decided that the tv would be our gift to each other and it will finish DH's man-room (which is slowly becoming our entertainment room).

The guitar I want is a purdy penny. The $1000 wouldn't even cover the cost of it, so I would put it towards that or take a trip somewhere.1. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Yes! I've already bought 5 gifts. I surprised myself. Every year I say I'm going to start early, but still end up shopping last minute.
2. If you are hosting Thanksgiving, have you started your grocery shopping yet? Not hosting, but I did buy some butternut squash puree at Williams Sonoma. I make a casserole with it every Thanksgiving.
3. Do you shop on Black Friday? And if so, do you usually plan on banging out greater than 50% of your shopping on that one day? If we are up in NJ I go with my mom. I usually don't do that good..only get maybe 1 or 2 gifts, but its fun with mom. I usually don't go myself.
4. Where do you like to shop most? Online? Local shops, mall, outlet centers, shopping centers (ie Friendly Center here in GSO)? If I have a gift in mind, I go wherever I know I can get it. The mall, Kohls, Target, online. If I don't have anything specific in mind, I'll search online, then buy in store to avoid shipping charges.
5. What's the thing or person whom you are most excited to shop for? My dad was in the Navy and I got him a shirt custom embroidered with his ship. I think he'll really like it.
6. What's the thing or person whom you'd least like to shop for? I don't have any good ideas for DH this year.
7. What are you most excited/hopeful about receiving this year? DH may buy me a Nook or Kindle. His brother just got one and really likes it. Other than that, probably just gifts cards.

DH really wants an iPad, but we just can't justify the cost right now. So I'd get that either at Target or Best Buy, then I'd look for the xbox Kinect.

4. Where do you like to shop most? Online? Local shops, mall, outlet centers, shopping centers (ie Friendly Center here in GSO)? Seems to change year to year. DH generally buys a lot of stuff online and I'm more of the in person shopping person.
5. What's the thing or person whom you are most excited to shop for? Myself, since that's who I've bought "gifts" for everytime I've "tried" to shop for others.

Yes--I've ordered a gift for BIL and SIL, and I bought a special tie for DH after Christmas last year that I'm saving for this year.
2. If you are hosting Thanksgiving, have you started your grocery shopping yet? Yes, I always start this process early too. But somehow, I still ALWAYS end up one thing short and someone is running to the store the night before or that morning for me.

I do usually shop on Black Friday, but I'm not one of those people that wakes up before 6am to get the uber-deals. The stores I prefer usually don't have those kinds of sales--and in the last few years--aren't especially busy either.

The place I LEAST like to shop is the mall now--correction OUR local malls. The gift I ordered BIL and SIL was online--they live in CA, so it's just easier to have the company ship it out. I do almost always prefer locally owned stores over chains, but sometimes if its a special request, there's no other options. I like a place like Friendly center because it does have a mix of both--chains, local stores and decent food options. Pet peeve of mine with outlets--their food options BLOW.
5. What's the thing or person whom you are most excited to shop for? Dad and DH both want some cycling stuff , so I never mind looking for that stuff.
6. What's the thing or person whom you'd least like to shop for? Mom is pretty critical and I often strike out on her the most. My FIL is also pretty hard to shop for because he "never wants anything."
7. What are you most excited/hopeful about receiving this year? I've asked for a SodaStream with some of the sample flavors. I really hope I get it!!

I think I would probably just get everyone something that they would love--I most often struggle with the price tags on items so I have to walk away from stuff. A helmet that DH would probably LOVE and think is just the coolest is $225, so I'll have to walk away from that--if I had the cash, I'd just go ahead and get it. Same thing with other people I buy for--my ideal gift for them is often out of the budget, so I have to compromise.1. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? LOL... no. I don't usually start until after Thanksgiving. I did order a couple of gift cards from MyPoints and we requested a check from our rewards credit card, and we'll use those to do some of our shopping. But I haven't actually purchased anything.

I'd probably go to this store Cameron's in Chapel Hill- they have a lot of unique and handmade gift-type stuff.
