Positive vibes UPDATE
Sorry it's taken me so long to post an update... was at the doctor's office for a few hours this morning then came home and needed to rest a bit.
So... we got our results, and... everything looks GREAT!
The nuchal fold measurement was totally normal, and they found the nasal bone (lack of the nasal bone is often indicative of the presence of Down Syndrome). And my risk for DS and the other two major trisomies (T13 and T18) is down to that of a 20-year old! So it seems like we've got a pretty healthy baby in there.
DH and I are so pleased with the results and I'm feeling much more at ease about the pregnancy. Even though this screening test can't tell us a definitive yes or no, our odds are much, much lower than the risk of miscarriage from more invasive testing, so at this point we're not inclined to have a CVS or amnio done.
Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers and good vibes --- I think baby can feel the love for sure!!!
