I'm venting. Feel free to ignore.

Oh my gosh. If my office wasn't separated from the others by glass, I'd close the door and scream my head off right now.

This whole moving thing has been a PITA. I've had to do everything - find H an apartment, find him a storage unit, figure out what he moved and what he didn't move, get health care set up for him over there etc. I get a phone call this morning that we have to have a storage unit lined up now, or we have to pay $50 for the military to store it for two weeks. Seriously? $50 for just two weeks? I can pay that a month at a different storage unit. But, since my wonderful husband [sarcasm dripping off that, btw] hasn't talked to me since Sunday night, I had no idea what was going on.

So now, I'm scouring the Internet, trying to pinpoint where he lives and find storage units nearby. I knew I should've just gone out there with him, but I couldn't take the time off and didn't have a sitter for JJ for the whole time I'd be gone. To add to it, JJ was up from 3:30am-5am this morning and woke up in the crankiest.mood.ever. This time change has got him all sorts of confused, and it's been a long, sleepless week for the both of us.

Now, I'm frustrated, upset that I'm the one having to do everything all the way from Oklahoma, and exhausted. I'll probably go have a good cry at lunch and eat a bunch of chocolate. That should help, I think.

Thanks for listening. If you read this far, here's some cookies for your trouble:

  • Dude....you're handling this much better than I would.

Take a second, breathe, and then divide and conquer. You can do it.

  • You're an amazing woman, you know that Ebonie?

I hope you realize you are. You have accomplished and done so much for your family; you can do this.

You also have the patience of a saint.

    exactly this!

  • Take a few of those chocolate chip cookies for yourself! You've got a lot going on!

I hear you on the time change thing. Nate's been waking up at 5 this week, despite the fact that I'm keeping him up later and later to try to get him to adjust.

  • Thanks ladies. Right after I posted that, I took a deep breath, dug into Internet searching and found a unit less than a mile from his apartment that has immediate availability. AND, he gets his second month free and a military discount after that. So, no paying the military to store his stuff [and then having to battle with them to get his stuff out of military storage] - and getting the unit wound up being cheaper than upgrading his apartment to fit the extra stuff.

You girls are the best - thanks for the encouragement and the kind words. And thanks for letting me vent. :)

Absolutely.  Every day you amaze me.  Especially after reading some of your blog posts and just hearing what you balance daily between your job and JJ.  I don't know how you do it, but you do and I think you do an amazing job!

  • Inhale, Exhale, take a second enjoy a cookie. You're doing an amazing job, you can do anything you set your mind to.
  • I'm late on this and I'm glad it all worked out, I had no doubt that it was going to! You are amazing and like everyone else, I have no idea how you do it all!  (huggs)  :)
  • I'm late on this too, glad it all worked out, agree with the others, and would like to throw in that while you're incredibly patient, mature, and capable... Jackie is pretty much the nicest person ever and able to put things so well that I just want to say "what she said."

'Cause... y'know... if left to my own devices, I'd just tell you to kick Joe in the teeth for putting you through this.  ;-)
