I'm baking bread with my kiddos at school this week-- well, we're mixing the bread at school then I'm "baking it" at home. wink wink. I'm really just buying loaves of bread to take in! haha
Anyway, before kneading the bread today I take off my wedding rings and place them in a small bowl on the table. When I go to put them back on I realize one of the small stones on my engagement ring is missing! I know it must have happened at school today because the ring was fine this morning! So I made the mistake of telling my kids to look on the ground for it and for the rest of the day I had kids picking up little bits of paper, old playdough, the tiniest piece of glitter ever, and what I'm pretty sure were boogers and shoving them in my face going, "LOOK MRS C! I found it!!!!"
and like a good teacher I'd go, "Yay! Thank you so much!" ![]()
so now we have to take the ring back to the jeweler and hope it's still covered under the warranty. blech!
oh, this is my ring, btw:
it's only the small pave stones, but still! what a pain in the a$$!
Re: Oh no! My ring!
Kevin dropped his ring in the bathroom the other day and two diamonds popped out. He found both of them on the floor so I took it in and they re-set the stones.
Hopefully they will replace your stone. My diamonds are covered against loss as long as I take my rings in to be inspected every 6 months.
ETA: This is what Kevin's ring looks like...

OMG I hope they fix it for you! My rings came from Kay Jewlers and as long as I keep up with my inspections every 6 months they'll cover any missing diamonds for free.
Yikes! I hope that the replacement is covered. I noticed that I'm missing a teeny pave diamond from a necklace pendant the other day, but I got the necklace as a free gift with a jewelry order, so I guess I can't complain.
This is one of those times that I'm really glad I have a solitaire and that Matt was so bull-headedly determined to make it as big as I'd let him. There's only one diamond to lose, and it's big enough that I'd have a shot at finding it if something ever happened. Also, I
jewelry insurance. Good luck!!
