Remembrance Day / Memorial Day
Are there any services at your workplace? Or does your employer give you time to attend services?
There is a service here at the university at 10:15. It's held at a spot on campus called Soldiers' Tower, which is a bell tower that was built in honour of the students who went to war back in the day. This morning coming in, I already saw a few veterans walking around. I haven't gone in the past but it's a gorgeous day and I think I will attend this year.

Re: Remembrance Day / Memorial Day
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
We have a planned minute of silence at 11am.
And I said "In Flander's Fields" to my cats this morning.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
ZOMG, we just had the worst ceremony ever at school today. Poor kids, what a disaster. The kid who was doing Last Post couldn't hit any notes on the trumpet and everyone was laughing at him. And then half way through the service one of the band members fainted, hit his head on a piano and was the konked out by his cello.
He came to, but the assemby was disbanded at the point we realized we needed an ambulence.
