I have white tile and
white grout on our bathroom floor. (Not a fan... the house came this
way.) At any rate, the grout is looking gray. Is there a product you
love for cleaning grout? I mop and scrub on my hands and knees, but
nothing seems to get it white again. Thanks, ladies!
Re: XP: Cleaning white grout
This will only work if the tile is the glazed porcelin style. If it is then this works amazingly well...
First you will want to open ALL windows for venting and if you can wear a mask. You will need a scrub brush, toilet bowel cleaner (acidic), vinager, water, and some white rags.
Take the toilet bowl cleaner and spay it on the tile, take the brush and dip it in the water then use it to spread the toilet cleaner. Scrubbing the areas you want more attanetion. Let it sit for a moment then wash off. When you are satisfied with the job go back and wash it down with the vinager.
A tile cleaner taught me this trick years ago for my white tile and white grout counter top kitchen that was original to the 1940's house. The grout was so nasty. Afterwords friends and family thought we had re-tiled the kitchen!!!
Oh, the vinager is to nutralize the acid from the toilet bowl cleaner.
Good luck!
