Birthday dinner in Charlotte
DH and I are thinking of traveling to Charlotte for my birthday weekend and I am looking for restaurant suggestions for a romantic night out. We have only been there once so my knowledge of the area is very limited. We will probably be staying right near downtown, but wouldn't mind driving somewhere for a great meal. Any suggestions would be great!

Is there a price range you want to stay in? Or a particular type of food? My favorite special occasion place is the Fig Tree. It's in Elizabeth, pretty close to uptown. Lulu's is also great.

There are also a ton of higher-end chains in uptown - Ruths Chris, Mortons, Capital Grille. I'm a fan of Blue if you want to stay uptown. If you want seafood, there is Lavecchia's, and McCormick & Schmicks.
On a less expensive side are things like Mimosa, Sonoma, Coco Osteria. There are also a lot of new places in the EpiCenter. If you like Indian food, you can go to Copper in Dilworth - it's upscale modern Indian food.
