Ok, Laura, here is the dress. It's a really gorgeous navy blue silk dress.
I don't think I like it paired with the black shoes and bag. I was thinking silver. I don't do heels very well, though, so only a couple inches at best. What I'm really awful at is picking jewelry...
Help me be more girly!
Re: Help Dress Me, Please!
I'm computer dumb when it comes to adding photos to posts, but here are my thoughts...
I initally thought of gold instead of silver, but silver would work too - your preferrence. You could do one of those colors in a ballet flat or a pointed shoe with a small heel (easily from Target, Kohls, Shoe Carnival, or DSW). For a necklace you could do something like the photo but with muliple colors in it giving you more dimension and stud earrings in a coordinating color. If you want bracelets I'd do a solid color going with your shoe of color.
First of all, I love the dress.
I think silver shoes would work great - as Jen said you could do flats or a kitten heel (I know some people don't like flats with nicer dresses, though). I'm not a bracelet person at all (they just bug me, but I like them on other people) but I think a bunch of thin silver bangles or one large one would be nice. I am off to search for some necklaces. I definitely think some kind of 'statement' necklace would be good since you have a dramatic neckline.
If you were doing gold shoes, I'd say this necklace:

All that being said, I'm not a big jewelry person. It seems like too much effort and money for accessories. If you have a pearl necklace, you could wear that!
I love these shoes from DSW. They are both available in black, taupe/gold, and silver.
Sorry, the pics are small, but you can find them in their evening/wedding category.
I also agree with silver accessories for that dress. It's very cute! Where is it from?
ETA: DSW has some cute low-heeled slide on shoes in silver. I know a couple of my BM's go their wedding shoes there.
GOSH LAURA, THAT STUFF IS SO FUGG, WTF ARE YOU THINKING?!!!

i dont have any pics but kohls has a huge selection of every color jewlery and most is resonably priced. they even have cute shoes.
i like silver over gold
I think I would go silver over gold as well for that dress. Very cute.
I like a heel with a skirt (even if it's just kitten heels). They force you to walk upright and elongate your legs.
I think you could go with a really fun chunky necklace with this dress. There are so many affordable nice pieces now out there - I need to take this advice myself. I am sorely lacking in this dept.

Seriously - are you just trying to make me look fugly and embarrass myself in front of all of my co-workers? Gawd. Thanks, Laura!
On that note, running of to check the shoe e-mail!
Citygirl - where'd you get your heels from?
I think maybe I'll have to spend my day tomorrow looking on Etsy for jewelry. I broke up with Etsy during wedding planning since it was costing me so much. I think it's about time to go back...
Etsy has some awesome jewelry, but it's hard for me to stay focused while I'm there so I try to stay away!
I also liked whiteaisle.com for jewelry, because it put things in sets for me so I don't have to work too hard.
Edit: I just went to whiteaisle, and they didn't have sets of jewelry. Hmm. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.
I like this though:

I really like that. I feel sort of self conscious when I wear necklaces that drop like that, though - especially to work functions - b/c I'm pretty busty and I don't want it to come off as if I'm trying to direct too much attention down that way in front of my co-workers. Especially since the dress has a pretty dramatic v-neck already.
Maybe I'm over thinking this too much...
I do love the shoes you sent, though! A shoe shopping trip is definitely in order for Saturday.
