Hey girls,
So, it's about time for me to trade in my Civic of over 6 years for a roomier "mommy friendly" SUV. We don't have kids yet, but its in the cards, so I really would like to know from the moms out there what kind of vehicle you have and what you like/dislike about it.
I have been looking at some mid sized SUVs that I really like, but my main concern is having enough storage space with kiddos later on down the line.
I appreciate any recommendations you may have
Re: Trading in the Civic
i want the volvo xc90 (even the 60 would do).
i wouldn't turn my nose up to the bmw x5, either. ha!
otherwise, I have no good suggestions. We're not quite in the market for a "mom mobile" yet... so I just keep my eyes peeled for pretty ones on the road and make mental notes.

I sold my Civic and bought a CRV. Love it! I think it makes a fab mommy mobile. It's big enough to tote around 2 boys plus stuff in the back. I also like that the passenger doors open up almost 90 degrees.
:-)
I probably won't have kids for another year or two but I definitely think it's a good idea to plan for it since I will have my next car for 5-6 years, maybe even more.
I love the Volvos and Hondas are awesome too! It's good to hear the CRV is enough room, because I tend to like the mid-sized SUV's better than the larger ones.
I know I am probably planning way ahead here, but that's just how I roll
I am also not a mom, but I like to be able to haul a lot of stuff in the back of my car. I have to recommend the Subaru Forester.
I have had one for 2 years and it has been really reliable, and the back can fit a ton. We have brought large pieces of furniture back from stores very easily.
It also is not as large or as tall as some midsize SUVs, which I like. I had a huge Blazer for many years, and it did not handle nearly as well as my Forester does.
