This summer I went to my cousin's ultra amazing wedding http://www.couturecolorado.com/blog/2010/10/19/wedding-venue-aspen-co/ & http://www.couturecolorado.com/blog/2010/10/19/aspen-colorado-wedding-venue/ my daughter is the flower girl ![]()
This was my cousin's second wedding and I still haven't gotten her a gift. I don't have a ton of money to spend and in my head I feel like it's better to give nothing than a super lame gift. Is attending the destination wedding enough? Do I get her something? Is this okay http://www.etsy.com/listing/61231418/latitude-longitude-coasters?ref=v1_other_1? Any other ideas?
I probably have a bad attitude because it was a very costly wedding to attend (flower girl dress alone was $200), plus we had 3 events to dress my family for while we were in Aspen. They had a rehearsal dinner, a soiree, and then the wedding. It was a lovely event and I feel lucky that we were even able to go but Aspen is expensive for my family (I can't event imagine what the wedding cost).
Gah - wish I had tons of money and trips like that were an annual occurrence! Or even every 5-10 years.
Re: Wedding gift question?
I completely agree with this! If you feel like you have to buy something, I think the coasters are a cool idea and something that I would have liked as a gift.
That looks like it was one fabulous wedding! My Bio

Cool wedding. I think you'd be safe with something small.
thank you!
I'm going to order the coasters - I wasn't sure if it was "good enough". I love the idea of a bottle of wine too!
Her first wedding was at a private club in Chicago and it was black-tie so DH had to rent a tux! That was pre-kids and I think I spent a couple hundred for a gift - that was then...
