I am XPing this from ML
Do any of you have any weird things in common with your H or s/o? Besides the obvious likes and dislikes...
I just got to thinking about this, because H and I figured out on our first date that our sisters have the same first name (and not a common one) and our brothers also have the same first name (a common one). Our BIL's have almost the exact same name, it is off by one letter (a vowel, in the middle of their name). Our kids are going to be so confused, because they will have two Aunt D's, two Uncle S's, and Uncle's T & T.
Our brothers that have the same name, also have the same profession (both police officers).
Also, the dates of our birthdays are the same number as our birthday month. His is 8/8, mine is 11/11. And he is 3 years, 3 months, and 3 days older than me.
Does anyone else have any weirdo things like this?
(I'm bored today, can you tell?)
Re: Weird coincidences
Ummm.....I have run into random people at the most random places in Houston and in Austin that happen to know DH that I have never met before. For example, I took a summer college class with one of his old classmates or I went to Fish Camp (a dumb Aggie thing) with one of his hs classmates too and we became friends and didnt realize until a while later that she knew DH. Nothing too weird though...not that I can think of.
But my bday is same day/month too! (4/4)
That is so cool! Weird how things work out.
We do also, kinda!
DH and I had separate blogs online and he happened to comment on mine one day, out of the blue. So I decided to check his out and saw that he was living in the same city that I just moved from (when I moved to Ohio the summer before my sr. year of HS). We found out that we went to the same high school (different years though), had some of the same teachers and some of the same friends, but when I was living there we never met each other. (Long story short, we decided to do the long distance dating and I decided to make the move back to Georgia after graduating and the rest is history).
I still think it is so weird to know that I would have never gotten the chance to move back here if I didn't log onto my computer and check out my blog at the time.
Later we found out that both of our dads worked at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta so who know if they ever crossed paths.
That's all I can think of for now.
I thought of one.... Adam's brother's name is Jake. He married a Kelley. My brother's wife's name is Kelly. Kelly named my nephew, Jake. We now refer to them as "My Kelly" and "Your Kelley" and "My Jake" and "Your Jake"
ETA: Our coincidence has made for some funny conversations.... For example, when Adam's Jake and Kelley were at our house and I was talking about MY Kelly breastfeeding Jake... I just wasn't even thinking about it.
The first three digits of DH and my cell phone numbers are the same, just the last two numbers are reversed (mine 123, his 132). Our social security numbers have many similarities that I won't post on here (crazy interweb stalkers out there!)
This isn't a coincidence, just a weird thing. When my ex-BF and I were still deciding if we wanted to try to work it out or not, I had already started chatting with DH. I happened to be downtown one day and BF called to tell me he just saw me, he was in the store next door to where I was. So we met outside. He was being a real @sshole and I was getting upset, until I noticed next to his head on the brick wall we were standing in front of- the last 4 digits of DH's phone number were written on the wall in sharpie!! So freakin weird right?!?! I took it as a sign that I needed to be with DH and ended things with @sshole ex-BF!!!
Another thing I thought of is that my brother's first name is his brother's middle name.
Not that weird...I know....
I don't think our coincidences are weird.... here are a couple I can think of..
We're both the oldest (lame, I know)
Both of our dads have died of lung cancer (well, we're pretty sure his dad had it)
We were both in ROTC
Neither of us has ever tried sour cream
His brother and my mom share the same birthday
When we first started talking, his brother was trying to date my sister. Fortunately, he failed.
We both speak some French and some Spanish
uhhhhhhhhh
You have to be kidding...I could eat sour cream by the spoonful just plain.
I am in shock! How is it possible for BOTH of you to never have tried it? Sour cream is delicious.
I am so glad to know now that I am not the only one that would do this.
Honestly, I think the weirdest thing is that I'm the only Kelly he knows.
Other than that... We've had a lot of similar experiences, but it has more to do with both being conservatively-raised devout Protestant kids than with any odd coincidence.
We're both the oldest child in our families.
Oh, I got one. His sister is pretty good friends with one of my exes; they all (ex, SIL, and HH) worked at the same Christian summer camp, but HH's last year must have been right before Ex started, because he doesn't remember him. I was worried for a while that SIL was going to bring Ex as her date to the wedding.
When we met,HH was living about half an hour from the town where I lived and worked. He lived in this adorable, picturesque, teeny little town that is just like Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls. Before I met him, I would sometimes get a little lonely or start feeling cooped up in "the city," so I would drive out there to walk around at night and look at the little shops or Christmas lights or stuff like that. I never ran into him, though.
Can't believe i forgot about this one:
besides us both being left handed, blue eyed and scrape our teeth on our forks when we eat.
Our parents (both mothers and fathers) have their birthdays on the same day, just different years
Our moms- May 21st (which is our wedding anniversary)
Our dads- Jan 21st
WEIRD
Ok, that IS really weird!
hahaha yea people tease us that its got to be so weird its bad, lol.
