Does Anyone Know How This Works?

My Grandpa died last week.  DH and I were talking about funeral arrangements and it came up that we believe he mentioned mailing in his absentee ballot a few days before he died.  We were curious if his vote still counts... if there's even any way anyone will know that he passed away before the actual election.

It just got me thinking about how many times per election this probably happens.  People pass away before the actual election day but their votes still count.

Re: Does Anyone Know How This Works?

  • You should call your county elections department but I bet the answer will be that it cannot be submitted.

    Sorry about your loss.

And, just out of curiosity, how did you find this board?

  • I don't know the answer, but I'm really sorry about your grandpa!

  • I'm sure they probably won't check that closely unless that state's results are contested. I'm so sorry for your loss.
    Slainte!
