Swiffer question

Quick question...

Is the Swiffer Sweeper easier than regular sweeping and mopping? I'm thinking about going out and buying one today, but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

Thanks!

Re: Swiffer question

  • I like the swiffer but I have dogs, so I always have to sweep first before using the swiffer, but I think it works pretty well. Its super light, and easy to use.

  • We have tile floors throughout and Swiffer is the best at getting dust, way better than a regular broom. I still need the broom in the kitchen though for crumbs and things that get dropped. The Swiffer will pull things into a pile, but you still need dust pan to pick it up.

I wasn't overly impressed with the Swiffer wet cloths. I still had to get down and scrub certain spots. I've never used the real Swiffer mop though.

  • Absolutely! We have big dogs and 2under2, so Swiffering daily is a must for us. When we installed our hardwood, a family friend recommended the SwifferVac and said that she uses it like a vacuum AND mop. She'll (and now we) vacuum with it, then install a new pad (or soft paper towel like Viva) and spray a natural floor cleaner and push the Swiffer over it to "mop". So, the benefits of the regular Swiffer plus a vacuum. FWIW, we just bought a new one b/c our old one started to not charge as well after 3yrs of daily usage-so, they last a LONG time.
  • Hmm, u guys have convinced me to go for it!  I have been thinking about it for a while now!  I just recently bought a $17 vac thing, but it is not cordless. I wish I would have just went for the swiffervac now.  But, it's all good.  I can put one upstairs in my new house.

Do you guys know any way to get a coupon?  I know sometimes Swiffer gives them out!

  • swiffer.com has the coupons!

  • Thanks everyone! I bought it and here's how it went:

Ya'll are right... doesn't get bigger crumbs or anything, but it is GREAT for dust.

Most days I can just use the Swiffer, but yesterday I swept then used the Swiffer. I couldn't believe how much dust the broom didn't get!

So yeah, I'm loving it for normal daily use, with the occasional broom sweep on weekends.

I really want the vacuum, but I live in Mexico and I don't think they sell it here :(
