Sorry, this got long as I was writing.
I have these two friends that back in our freshman year of college, I found out they liked each other so I pushed them to go out. They went out all throughout college, got engaged 9 months after us and got married 3 months after us. We were in each others wedding and she was an awesome bridesmaid. She has lived in South Carolina since the graduated 2 and half years ago, up until a few months where they moved to Texas for him to go to grad school. It is one of those things where we have not talked much but we are still great friends. They are great couple friends because him and Ben talk nerdy stuff and she and I just get each other. I love them both so much!!
Well she just e-mailed me to say that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is 25 and his mom passed away from cancer when he was younger. I am just in shock because I know that there are only 5% of people that are diagnosed survive and it is not good because it has already spread to part of his liver. I can not believe that this could happen to someone so young!
I was just wondering if you all could spare some thoughts and prayers for them. I know you girls are awesome and the vibes from this board can be amazingly powerful. Thanks ladies!!!

A million thoughts & a million prayers being sent from Alabama. I know how difficult it is to find out suddenly that a loved one has a terminal illness, but my heart hurts so much for his wife especially. It's amazing what modern medicine can do now, so please stay positive. Miracles do happen
I am so so sorry, many T&P's to your friends. Isn't there a well known cancer 'center' in Texas? I remember a few people making a temporary moved down there for treatment.
Just today I was watching tv and a 'commercial' came on for Karmanos Cancer institute in Detroit and it was a women who had been diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer in 2005 and how she is cancer free now. I know how the odds can affect everyone's outlook but there are advacements all the time.
I found the commercial, of course it is pushing Karmanos but I still thought you might want to see it. Commercial
