Another Monday...a new number?
Here are the questions, my friends:
What's your word count now that we have finished our second week?
Are you still following the plan/road map of your novel or did you take a left turn and now your main character is working at a fast food restaurant when s/he should be solving a murder?
Re: Another Monday...a new number?
1. My word count is completely unchanged since last week. I'm still at 1119, but I'm not overly worried. Last week life got in the way and this week I've convinced MH to help me get somewhat back on track. I think I've also decided that my goal is going to be 25,000 words. Right now that seems more realistic.
2. My main character is still following the original plan and I think she may stay that way. I think a lot about my story even when I'm not putting words down on paper. That's definitely a good thing!
Side question: what hurdles do you anticipate in the next 7 days to meeting this week's writing goals?
GL ladies!
my word count was on track friday, but i didn't have any time to write over the weekend and now i'm sick... waaaah.
so anyway, hopefully i'll get out 3k this afternoon, i need to get busy this week since next week will be really hard.
i'm pretty much sticking with mine, i had a character become more important and stick around more than i thought i was going to, but other than that i'm kind of in my phase 2 (of 2) of the novel now, so i'm happy with that.
I'm a little behind at 21,178. I had yet another weekend with little to no writing accomplished. I'm seriously ready to have a Come To Jesus with my husband since before November we talked a lot about him helping out more with the kids so I could spend extra time on the weekends writing. Of course this has not happened and I'm starting to get pissy about it.
Anyways, hoping to get back on track by tonight.
My story has pretty much stuck to the game plan, though characters have behaved in unexpected ways. But I happen to love it when they do that!
I pushed ahead a bit last night and started today with 24,053 words. I didn't really have a plan before I started the novel, but so far most of the main elements have stayed in place.
My biggest hurdle this week will be to get ahead enough so that I can deal with the interruptions of next week. Days that I pull a really big word count are usually followed by a day of not wanting to write at all. I can't do that this week.
I'm starting today with 22,686 which is a little behind. My goal was to catch up tonight after DD goes to bed since DH is at work but I have a monster headache and really full ears so I may be in bed instead.
The basic plot has stayed the same but there have been some additional scenes added in and some tidbits about the characters I didn't plan out originally.

I'm a little behind now at 23,011. I'm going to try like hell to get to 25K by the time I go to bed tonight.
As for the story itself, it's not only taken a left turn at Albuquerque, it's also developed schizophrenia and the odd habit of thinking for itself. lol
1. I'm at 19k, so I'm behind, but life got in the way. I'm planning on writing my butt off tomorrow afternoon and next week.
2. Meh, a few left turns but it's getting a little less bumpy. We shall see. I'm trying not to kill my mystery novel.
