The little girl I told you all about...
...Emily. She didn't make it. She died yesterday. Her berlin heart just wasn't enough, and a transplant didn't come in time.
I feel so awful for her parents. I could have been such a better friend to them both. I can't imagine the pain they are feeling. For three and a half years, they've been fighting a losing battle.
If you could keep them in your thoughts and prayers, I know they could really use it. I don't know how they are going to deal with the loss of their baby girl.

Megan, it doesn't matter how good of a friend you have or have not been to them, just let them know you are there for them now, or in the future if they need you. They'll appreciate it.

Oh I am so sorry. T&P to them. I am sure you were the best friend they could have asked for. All the support you had given their family was what they needed.
The bolded is exactly what I wanted to say to you. I'm so sorry to hear this sad news though.
