I'm soooo excited just thinking about Christmas gifts - both giving and getting them! Does anyone have a start on either of their lists? Maybe we can benefit from each others' ideas and keep an eye out for sales for each other!
I know what I want to get H (shhh, nobody tell him!):
-a kindle (he's been talking about getting one, and apparently Best Buy will start carrying them soon, so hopefully they'll have a good deal on them!)
-a money clip (he mentioned wanting one instead of his wallet; the awesome thing is that I can tell it's one of those things he'll mention once and then forget he said he wanted it...heehee!)
I'm considering getting him a crazy tropical shirt and making him wear it on our cruise too. (For all who have met him, you realize he's not the tropical shirt wearing type!)
I have no idea what to get my parents or H's family, though!
And on my list:
Mostly running stuff - a bright orange jacket, new shoes, nike plus, a gps - etc!
And satin pj's so I can feel all rich and spoiled on the cruise. ![]()
Re: christmas lists - giving and getting!!
For my grandparents we framed an 8x10 of the family picture from our wedding, and I made an album of wedding pics for them.
DH's grandma I made an album of wedding pics for her.
My aunts and uncles we framed an 8x10 of the family picture of our wedding.
My parents: framed 8x10 of the family picture, 8x10 framed of my grandparents from the wedding, a collage of family pics from the wedding, framed pic of me and my dad, framed pic of mom and dad, hoho's (dad's favorite), and slippers for mom.
My brother a gift card for a restaurant near his college.
Our nephew who is like 3 months a cute elephant, and 3 onsies.
My MIL, FIL, SIL's and BIL are still up in the air.
For DH I am getting him 2 games for the WII.
We just bought a house so we are not spending as much this year. For DH family we drew names, I got my brother in law and he asked for a Home Depot gift card (just bought it last week)
I am getting DH a golf bag organizer to hold his golf bags in the garage
I would like a gift certificate for a facial and some pajama pants.
I think we're getting the Xbox and Kinect, but we're not 100% sure yet. If we don't, I'll get C some more paintball gear, he's been wanting to upgrade his gun for a while now. He also wants a Le Cruset, so that's another option.
I'm trying to decide between a Nook/Kindle or an external flash for my camera. It's a rough decision. I'd really like the Xbox console, but I just don't know.

I haven't looked at H's wish list hard enough to decide what I'm getting him yet. I have a few ideas depending on how much I can find things for. He wants the Wii Fit and balance board, so I'm going to try and get that, plus a few computer/video games (and while I'm hesitant to get them b/c I already barely see him, I know he will use them).
For our parents, we will prob get them all some wedding pictures/books and something they can all hang on the wall like a plaque of some sort.
We drew names in my family between us kids & their spouses, so I have my sister and had her shopping done back in October. All 3 of her kids are done; we got them books, a few mind enriching toys. My bro's kid is mostly done but I need to get a few books for him. H's niece we got a big soft stuffed elephant (she loves that kind of stuff) and will get her some books b/c she needs to learn how to read (she's 5 and can't read at all & the school district she is in won't let her start without some reading comprehension). H's brother is kind of a grinch w/ the holidays so we will just get him a gift card somewhere.
H is getting a mountain bike so he will go riding with me
....unless I think of something else between now and then. His bday is later this month and for that he's getting a Kindle.
SIL and her bf are getting stockings and matching aprons (both of which I've made) with some dishes, cookie cutters, etc bc they love to cook.
Undecided about my bro, SIL, and parents. I am going to make my mom a heat bag thing she can put in the microwave, but need something more. I want to get MIL a cricut and/or scrapbooking stuff. She recently got into this, but doesn't spend money on herself.
That's all I have so far.
For myself, there really isn't anything I've really been eyeing. I am way more about giving the perfect gift. I would LOVE new flooring for the downstairs, but it's not in our budget. If I had to picking something...maybe a new lense for my camera.
We just had to buy a new car unexpectedly, so that is our Christmas gift to each other.
For MIL and FIL, they collect decorative cannons, so we are getting cannon christmas tree ornaments and I got a mold to make chocolate cannons and soap cannons. I think it'll be fun.
For my mom, I'm making a scrapbook of a mom/daughter weekend we spent in Louisville this fall. And for my dad, he's getting a case of Cheerwine, which he loves from his childhood, but is never able to get any.
BIL will get a videogame of some sort. SIL and her husband get a giftcard. Their two-year-old gets an educational toy.
One of my brothers is getting a guinea pig with all the accessories. He had one a few years ago, but it died, and he would really like to have another. It's a big surprise gift. I can't wait!
DH's grandparents are still up in the air, and so is my other brother and a few other people.
For me, before we had to buy the car, I was going to get a Kindle with 3G. I'm hoping someone has a great Black Friday deal on them, or I can get one with tax returns. My birthday is just before Christmas, so maybe even then.
