Baby Fever

I have it BAD! I spent Thursday through Sunday at my parents house. My sister, BIL, and nephew live there right now too which means I got the little 2 1/2 month old all weekend. Loved it! And when J surprised me Saturday night by showing up and watching him with my nephew just made it worse. Seriously, my nephew just cooed and smiled and all with him.

Thankfully, I'm still on the pill but I've so been putting off making the doctor's appointment for the refill...eek...

Yep! SO I made my appointment for December 1st to have my IUD taken out! I was like

you don't have a sooner appointment? HA!

I know how you feel. (hint which is why i'm now KU'd). It's really hard!!! Have you and your hubby talked about when you would like to start having kids??

We both want kids now but we both want him to finish his school first and get hired on first. Hopefully, it will be done by this time next year, if not sooner.

I also want to be out of the school system and in a medical setting so I can get the maternity leave. So it'll still be awhile which is making this baby fever all the harder...

I don't have it BAD, but I definitely feel the pressure. Went to the doc last week and we decided to get working on the fertility issues. She put me on meds that will help me ovulate BUT, now DH and I have to use condoms. BCP and this med are counter-productive, so if we don't want to get preggers ASAP, we have to still use some sort of protection. I just hope if and when we decide to have kids, it won't take years to conceive

I truely believe that it will happen when it's supposed to. I used to work in daycare and I knew soooo many families that would try for a long time and not get anywhere and then within 2 years of them adopting, they ended up getting pregnant on their own. God works in mysterious ways. Stay strong, and just know that if you have to wait awhile, you'll be that much more appreciativie and ready when it does happen. Smile

I've heard this many times too! And I think that if God really wants me to have kids, he'll make it happen. Sometimes I forget that when I see babies/kids cuz they're so darn cute. So I believe God will provide, but I just want to give the ovaries a little nudge too

Speaking of mysterious happenings...my old boss was told that she wasn't going to get pregnant ever. She had some issue when she was younger and then a surgery and they told her she had a 0.0001% chance of ever conceiving.

So her and her H never used protection. When she turned 29 she started wanting a kid and they looked into adoption. About 2 months into it, she found out she was pregnant. They had a girl.

Ever since then they decided they just would use protection around her period but her conceiving rate was still the same. Two years ago, she got pregnant again.

Holy crap! That's a crazy story! Your mom must have been so happy. :-)

I have a cousin who adopted after several years of trying, and 2 years later they got pregnant with their own. It definitely happens.

LTB - that reminded me of another story. K's old boss had a vasectomy and ended up getting his wife pregnant with a surprise baby in their late 40's.

I'm older than you are (I think). I wanted to give myself at least 6 months of trying before I got worried. I dunno...am I just putting off the inevitable?

I have PCOS (polycycstic ovarian syndrom) which means either I don't ovulate regularly or at all. I used to get AF ever 52 days or so but in the last 2 years, I get it whenever my body feels like shedding. Which could be 2-3 months after my uterus has filled w/ blood. (Talk about a not fun period!)

DH and I have never used protection in our 9 years together, so I thought something was amiss. The gyno confirmed PCOS last year. So if we want to have kids, I definitely need to be taking something (metformin or chlomid). Chlomid is what causes multiples, a la Jon & Kate + 8.

Since I'm 33, (you barely are older than me!) doc thinks we should start the ovulation process now, so when/if we decide to have kids, we're not starting 6 month/year/2years behind. She wants me regular by the time we decide. So I'll take metformin until we decide, try that for a few months and if it's not working switch to chlomid. I also have to seriously lose weight, as PCOS is prevalent in obese women.

Have you ever seen that show on TLC I didn't know I was pregnant? Most of those women have PCOS and doctors have told them they can never have kids. So when they do get preggers, they never know it b/c they assume they never can.

We are actively trying right now!

As far as oopsie suprises my parents adopted me then two years later my little brother because my mom was never supposed to be able to have children 5 years after they adopted my little brother my other little brother came along!

Age: My aunt had her first at 40 with no complications and only 3 months of not trying but not preventing. my mom was 37 when she had my little brother.
