happy monday!

good morning ladies!! how was everyone's weekend?

Re: happy monday!

  • My weekend was pretty good- Fri night and Sat night the kids wanted to see a play at school so DH dropped them off and we got to have a nice quiet evening by ourselves! Sat I baked (with Randi's help) gingerbread cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, worked on my SIL's slipper socks I'm knitting. Yesterday I knitted some more and looked online at reviews and info on a new car!! I'm looking at the Hyundai Tuscon, which has great reviews by users and Consumer reports. I want to go look this weekend with DH and see what it looks like in person :-) This would be my first NEW car so I'm really excited!

  • My weekend was super busy. DH and I got all of our family Christmas shopping done! Yay! Now I don't have to brave the crowds and can sit at home and be comfy and warm. I still need to buy H's birthday gift (it's December 1st), but I think I'm going to buy it online and ship it to my office.

We also did some major cleaning around the house and it looks so much better. I feel so much more relaxed when things are neat and clean.

Tonight I am trying out a recipe for Thanksgiving breakfast for H and I (we will be on our own this year). It's a fancy ham and cheese tart, so it's hearty enough for dinner, so that should be fun!

I hope everyone else had a productive weekend!

  • Saturday we baked and cooked allll day while watching football. Didn't leave the house except to go to the grocery store :)  Sunday we went for a 3 mile walk w/ the dog and then to a tiki bar in our friends' community to watch the Browns game (then I went home to watch the Giants get destroyed -ugh).

One more week till Thanksgiving vacay THANK GOD

  • Didn't do a whole lot as I was pretty much on my own this weekend.  Friday, I took the dogs for a walk and did a few things around the house; Saturday:  more dog walking, went grocery shopping and sewed a cover for our KitchenAid mixer; Sunday:  church, walk dogs, made a cover for the toaster, worked out, and watched a movie.

  • We were pretty low-key.  Friday we stayed up too late watching TV/snuggling with dogs.  We made a trip to the store for supplies to go camping.  My family does a "Freeze Your Buns" campout every year the second weekend in November, always a good time!

Saturday we woke up, started getting ready to pack up and go, and checked the weather - the forecast was for rain and heavy winds - and wimped out.  We decided to skip the campout.  Instead we did some cleaning and organizing, went to Target for picture frames and finally got some of our honeymoon pictures up on the walls.  That night we went out for a movie, saw "Due Date" with Robert Downey, Jr. and the dude from "Hangover".

Sunday we did a little more shopping - hit up Costco - and a little more tidying up, I went to a 2 1/2 hour choir rehearsal and we walked the dogs.  Good times.

  • We had another weekend of gorgeous sunny weather in MD! It's official: I am spoiled, and will not know what to do with myself when the cool weather actually does return...lol

Saturday - Personal pampering day - mani/pedi, a little shopping...and then home to do some light chores...overall, a pretty good day :-)

Sunday - Y'all know this one: Football! But also got a treat, because H stayed home with me (although he did sleep on the sofa) while I watched, which was neat, because he normally goes out, does yard work or visits his Dad while the house is on NFL lockdown!

Yep - another cool weekend in the neighborhood...definitely not ready for it to be over :-)

  • It was BEAUTIFUL on the east coast this weekend! Friday DH and I had a date night and went to dinner. Saturday we jumped in the car and headed down to Red Bank to get our wedding album!!! :) LOVE IT! Then Saturday night our friends came over for fondue. They brought their baby and I'm getting MAJOR baby fever.... Sunday we were lazy bums we packed and just cleaned. I did a MAJOR scrub on the bathtub!
  • Saturday it was beautiful outside! I did some errands, bought some Christmas decorations for the front yard and porch and went through all my ornaments & stuff in the basment while watching E! Top Hollywood tragedies (how I still get chills seeing Kurt Cobain on TV after all these years!!!).  We picked Amanda up for the night and had dinner over my parents, stopped at the grocery store then settled in for the night.

Sunday it was FUH-REEEZING outside and Mike ran a 10k race.  We picked up my SIL (his oldest sister) and she, Amanda & I waited inside the rec. center building until about 20 minutes before he was due to cross the finish line then waited out in the cold for him.  Afterwards Mike's co worker & wife joined the 4 of us at National Coney Island for breakfast/lunch and BIL & niece met us there.  Our niece just came home from Vegas (she moved there 6 months ago but living situation was really dangerous for her) so it was good to see her again, all happy and safe!

  • We had a good weekend.  Both productive and lazy.

    Friday--nothing

Saturday I went to a couple craft fairs with a friend while DH was at work.  Then we did major cleaning around the apt and laundy in the afternoon.  We made tacos for dinner and chilled at home that night.

Sunday I put chili in the crockpot and we were pretty lazy most of the day.

Overall, it was a great weekend.  A nice calm one before the holiday craziness begins.

  • I also took advantage of the great East Coast weather. On Saturday DH and I headed to New Hope, PA which is a small town about an hour and 15 minutes away. It's a really cute town with great restaurants, shopping, art galleries etc.  It's close to where I grew up so I've been there a bunch of times but it was DH's first time there. We went wine tasting at a winery in the area, had a great lunch and walked around for a while, then went to a brewery nearby that makes beer DH likes. It was a great day!

Sunday DH was at the Meadowlands to watch the Cowboys apply a whooping to the Giants, so I just caught up on some laundry and cleaning and watched the games at home.

  • Lori, I love New Hope, used to drive through there on the way to visit DH (then bf) when he lived in Bucks County.

As for me, this weekend was actually pretty fun (most weekends my focus is on sleep).  DH and I went to a wedding Saturday night at Battery Gardens at the southern tip of NYC.  Gorgeous bride, touching ceremony, beautiful and fun reception and delicious food.  I danced a little and munched a lot!  We stayed overnight in the city and joined many of the guests for Sunday brunch at this cute little bistro... scrumptious.

Then we went home and I crashed, and then felt icky the rest of the night.  I was just glad that my "morning" sickness held off for the duration of the party.  I took a nap and then watched the first half of the Pats-Steelers game, and was pleased this morning to find that we maintained our lead to win.

This morning I went for my 12-week ultrasound and I got a good long listen to the baby's heartbeat... such a beautiful sound!

  • Hello There! This weekend was pretty boring, as I was sick most of the weekend. I just hung out and worked on a photobook for my aunts for Christmas. I watched some football, ate chinese and watched a movie with DH on saturday.

Back to the grind at work today! Are we almost to Friday yet? Today has already been pretty rough!
