Morning my nestie friends. The weekend has come and gone and it is time to get back into our routines what ever they maybe.
SS went back to school today. We got his school pictures today. I've already been to the gym and have this weeks meals planned out. DH got paid for a BIG job and work keeps on coming along YAY!!!
Thanksgiving is next week already and I have no real idea whats going on. DH's Dad isn't really speaking to us and his Mom's side hasn't said anything yet either. DH is thinking we just have a small dinner with my parents at our place which would be quite simple with just 5 people. I thinking maybe we should just cheat and "but" thanksgiving dinner instead of making one.
Re: Monday Funday Randoms
We usually go to Fire Mountain because it's only the 2 of us.
We are having our family Thanksgiving on Sunday. It will be a Thanksgiving/Dad's Birthday/last race of the season party.
Then we are headed to Detroit, my SIL lives downtown, so we are going up Wednesday and meeting my husband's parents. They reserved us a hotel room for the night, so we will get there Wednesday, get up Thursday go to the parade, then probably lunch or something with them. I doubt they will cook, since my SIL doesn't cook, and their parents are flying in from Washington DC.
I am so glad that my husband took his parents up on the offer of the hotel room. I was not looking forward to getting up, leaving the house at 3am with a 4month old, a 2 year old, and a 9 year old, didn't seem like my idea of fun.
Brian is on my sh&t list right now. I asked him when his open enrollment at work is, since he was too new to sign up last year. I wanted him to sign up for the FSA - Dependent Care (for daycare expenses). It was due last week - he TURNED IT DOWN. WTF!!
He, and he alone, decided that it didn't make sense for us for some reason that didn't make sense. We never had this option before, so I don't think he knows what the program truly entails. I think he got confused on something and thought that we wouldn't use all of the money we would set aside. So without even checking with me, he turned it down.
I just stared at him, stunned and he got all pissed. Yes, I know the past two weeks were stressful with the dog, but still, we could have taken 20 minutes to look at the plan and I could have explained it to him.
He knew I wanted to sign up for it because I had him check into it last year and I made the comment about for sure signing up next year (this year) when we could.
DP - Safe travels and hopefully things will go more smoothly for you.
Good Luck Shana!
MB - That would be REALLY annoying. Does his work make any exceptions - could he change it late? Or you'll could go ahead and have a major life change like get knocked up or something. Kidding. ;-)
I have today off instead of Friday due to a network upgrade. It's been really nice to catch up on chores/errands after the long weekend away.
Good grief! What is the problem? Mechanical? Weather? That totally sucks.
Brian doesn't handle stress/grief real well, so he has been a "little short" to say the least. I'm not even broaching the topic with him again. I emailed him some links and a calculator that shows we bascially lost $1200 by him not doing this. I put in the email that I wasn't trying to start anything, just something he can file away for next year when we can sign up again.
I can pretty much guarantee that we could probably still sign up, but I know he won't ask. I think most places give their employees an early deadline so they have time themselves to get thier paperwork down.
I'm looking forward to going to my parents for a few days next weekend.
DP - hope you get there soon
Missy - good luck on the interview.
I've always wanted to go to the Detroit Parade. P&P - That is awesome that you have a hotel room. I think that is the biggest thing keeping me from going, is being motivated to get up early enough, drive from my parents, park and find a spot to wait and wait.
I am pretty sure that my husband told me that my SIL lives on the parade route. I may have heard wrong, or he relayed wrong information. I am really excited to go.
